These dealer-level imports are not strictly controlled by BMW India, and hence dealers have some leeway in charging a premium for fast-moving items.
I didn't think these would be dealer level imports. I always thought - products such as these are through BMW India and units are allocated to dealers based on demand prospects.

Anyway -- I am going to continue teasing my friend for having paid 63+

Also, the consequences of voiding warranty may drive many buyers to go with OEM regardless how good or bad the product is. Then again, you have people buying all-weather mats for 30k so some may prefer to buy these branded-outside Chinese-inside dashcams.

I have heard horror stories of the BMW dash cam app, so I don't know how the hardware improvements will help if the videos cannot be accessed easily.

That's the main reason that's stopping me for going for this dashcam. Have heard it's not straightforward to access video's etc. So am happy without one

The friend who just got it on his X3 is struggling to figure out how to use it properly.

The BMW ACE 3.0 App is not necessarily the best, but it is not that bad either. It does the job fairly well and downloading to phone is relatively quick too. The only irritating part is that you have to disconnect Apple CarPlay or Android Auto when doing this. You do get cheaper and arguably better quality 4K aftermarket Dash Cams and can conceal the wiring too to a certain extent, but this one does a pretty good job too. The price is ridiculous though

Not an automotive update but found some 2022 pictures of our trip to the Amritsar, Chandigarh & Shimla areas. It was still bitterly cold, hence please excuse the random jittery pictures.

29K km up without any update. Minimal driving; washed it today, couple of pics.

Still brooding about the exhaust tips. I currently have the original ones stuffed on but it looks a little odd. One option is to slice off / rake the MPE pipe to match the original tips OR buy a bespoke pair in chrome / dark chrome / black / CF finish.

Jury's out as of now.

It definitely wasn't me. Picture from my usual shawarma joint.

But seriously, our pastoral area is getting progressively ruined by burgeoning traffic and totally selfish civic sense from mostly 2 wheelers.

What used to be a quietish intersection with a secondary highway is now a Maze Runner situation. I dread that that the entire Yelahanka area is heading down the exact slippery slope as other busier parts of BLR suburbs.

I'd like to proved wrong but unlikely.

Concretization roadworks + a sudden light drizzle + a dark colour = a truly filthy BMW.

Can anyone visualise a Jimny here?

Need body armour to approach better half, and a civil contractor for the remainder (not remains!)

10 minutes after a lovely wash it's dusty as usual. Pretty sure BLR must be the dustiest metro in south India!

Struggling to remove a few tree sap marks. Was forced to park overnight under some trees, and the damage was done.

Have you finally decided what to do with the exhaust tips? I think the CF tips are best suited for the MSport bumper.

My 2020 BMW 330i Sport (G20) Review | EDIT: 4 years & 36,000 km update-img_1636.jpeg

For a beater car, I think you should stick to the stock ones, paint them black and ignore the rattles - realised that the Sport bumpers anyway do not look very sporty, so investing in expensive tips may not do justice, contrary to what I suggested earlier. Unless of course, you change the bumper and the tips - which would be the ideal upgrade.

This thread is getting more and more interesting with the cycle of washing and getting the car dusty at random places, should post more travelogues I reckon.
