Agree the Sports bumper with the BLACK inserts looks really cool. Any thoughts on how I could change mine from Chrome to Black (replace / paint / wrap?).

Moot question: My car is now like 7 months old, 5K ODO, always washed @ car wash (haven't yet allowed the building fellow to touch it). Is it too late for me to consider either a Ceramic coating or PPF? Mine is the Alpine white shade.
Makes sense to not tinker with it immediately. 190bhp/400Nm is more than enough for now :-). Which EW package have you taken and did you get any offer on it? I have take neither BSI or BRI, but will buy the former just before my first service in June, and the latter before my standard warranty expires in June 2022.

Have limited experience of wraps but they should definitely be wrappable. Replacement was easy when Aliepxress was shipping but now eBay UK is the easiest but pricier source.

Ceramics or PPF can be done anytime as they carefully clean and decontaminate the vehicle first. I'd suggest the former, as the PPF may yellow with age and be visible on your Alpine White.

re: My 2020 BMW 330i Sport (G20) Review. EDIT: 2 years & 27,000 km up

Excellent review sir.

Yesterday, i test drove the bmw 330i sport.

Likes

1) Aggressive looks
2) Best in the segment performance
3) Exhaust in sports mode
4) Comfortable for a sporty sedan
5) Perfect size for city driving
6) Back seat comfort is good once seated

OK OK

1) Interiors (Good interiors but not superior to competitors)
2) Music system (Nothing to complain but above average)
3) Runflats tyres

Dislikes

1) No keyless entry (Major miss)
2) Ingress and egress is difficult for old folks at back seat
3) Sunroof is small (Not of much importance though)
4) No ventilated seats at this price point
5) No Apple carplay/Android Auto (i use it daily on my current drive)

Now, I thoroughly enjoyed the performance and what really wowed me was the exhaust sound note on sports mode. In comfort mode it was just like regular sedan but when i pressed the sport button the car showed its true character.

According to SA, bmw has stop the production of 330i and it will start somewhat around next month and it will only be available in M sport variant. The production for sports variants will start in next quarter.

This has brought a disappointment on me. He is not 100% sure even if bmw will start production in next quarter because they are more focusing on newly launched Limo varaint.

Bmw 330i sport varaint around 45 lakhs OTR was such a good deal.

Didn't "buy" the EW, got the standard 2-year warranty extended by another 2 years from BMW as compensation for #2 above (Start/Stop button issue).

Congratulations itwasntme.

Beautiful car, wishing a lots of happy miles

Your thread is the trigger and motivation for me to short list 330i and pursuing the last 330i sport left (2020) in Bangalore.

It would be of great help to talk to you in person .

@itwasntme, I remember a discussion about Apple CarPlay in 330i Sport. The Sport version does not have the hardware that supports CarPlay, right? A friend of friend was asking about enabling CarPlay in his 330i Sport.

Thank you! I hope we have gradually have a large G20 owner group just like the F30 tribe .
Sorry to hear of the delay in 330i Sport production, but one silver lining will probably be the mass migration from iDrive 6 to iDrive 7. While BMW India may not add goodies like navigation or Android Auto / Apple CarPlay, at least the base hardware/firmware will be identical to the M Sport variant.

Glad to hear of the compensation. Must have been excruciating to be without your brand new 330i sitting in the workshop.

Hi Ganesh, as the current 330i Sport variant is still on iDrive 6, your friend will have to add a bunch of stuff. Turbanator had shared them with me (based on my Sport's VIN):

July 2017 later production
Headunit - H2 or B2, NBT Evo/ Enav.
SA609/ SA6U9 - Navigation
SA6NR - App interface.

Post/thread below:
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/car-e...ml#post4844047 (Installed! Apple CarPlay in BMW 3GT (F34))

I also understand it was upwards of 2 lakhs if not more (even the BMW service folks were unaware of both the modules and the coding required). Frankly, I did not pursue any further. Having said all this, BMW may have silently added at least CarPlay and just needs activation. Better to check with the specific VIN I feel.

re: My 2020 BMW 330i Sport (G20) Review. EDIT: 2 years & 27,000 km up

What a lovely review ! Enjoyed reading every bit of it. Here in Jamshedpur we don’t have a BMW dealership ( Ranchi being the closest city with one ). Just 2 days ago I test drove the exact variant as it had come to my city and I fell in love with it instantly. I used to wonder what’s so special about it, but the moment I switched to S+ mode and pinned the throttle, I was speechless to be honest
Wish you many many happy miles on it 🤗

re: My 2020 BMW 330i Sport (G20) Review. EDIT: 2 years & 27,000 km up

Wish BMW executed the G20 gear selector and surrounding console in a more stylish and premium manner.

My 330i Sport:
My 2020 BMW 330i Sport (G20) Review | EDIT: 4 years & 36,000 km update-g1.jpeg

Very 'plain Jane' with minimal design flair, and overall looks plasticky and cheapo. Leave aside the crystal 'Crafted Clarity' one found in the X% and up, the 330i selector does not do justice to a premium sports sedan.

The console buttons are also very conservatively styled and are not even engraved (intaglio style) with the functions. Instead of a Sports & Comfort wording, a stylized intaglio 'S' or a 'C' could have been designed. Also, the Ecopro option should be done away with altogether!

Buttons:

For me at least, even after 7K km I sometimes need to take my eyes off to look down and ensure I am pressing the right button. The engine stop-start button being located right there is also a worry. It's just too close to the Drive mode buttons. God help if I press the stop button on a fast-moving highway and the vehicle immediately starts slowing down to eventually stop!

For the drive modes, a gearshift-mounted button/toggle (like what Skoda does) would have been excellent.

In summary, just look at some of the luscious center consoles BMW has designed over the years. Have attached here for convenience.

Thanks itwastime.

Not sure on the head turner aspect. I just hope it shouldn't look too flashy.

Couple more days to take the delivery and just now printed 4 page long Team-BHP PDI check list . I will keep you posted.

Any tips on how to choose sellers on ebay? I'm looking for black mirror wraps and black side skirt strips. Tried looking up for Taiwan/Hongkong sellers and haven't had much luck. I've even messaged and confirmed whether they deliver to India, but after ordering invariably the order gets cancelled saying they don't

Hey, complete hit or miss. I was probably lucky to find a seller who shipped via Taiwan and the pedal covers reached me in 21 days flat.

Just to clarify, are you looking to wrap your ORVMs or replace the cover entirely? If wrap is the answer, then you could try the best wrappers in town and ask for the high quality 3M or Avery Dennison ones. Consider PPF or wrap on the piano black B pillars too. Mine are already a mess.

I hate this sudden fad of piano black on exterior surfaces - they are impossible to keep swirl-free in most conditions and look ugly after some time. The new i20 has piano black even on some of the bumper areas

Hey, things got little slow & added delay due to my dilemma on car loan vs lease (my company). Finally sorted out & Payment realized yesterday.

Duesche motern estimated lead time of 5 workdays for the delivery , i have send the documents needed for RTO yesterday . I am expecting delivery will happen before March 8.

I hope i will pay a visit for quick PDI these days, please suggest any thing specifically to look out for this car .

Coming to my preparations for the delivery , i need your suggestions here.

1. In discussion with Mohsin ( Ultimate Detailers ) for Ceramic treatment or Ceramic +PPF ( hood and piano black exterior bits) . My plan is to take the car the very next day for the treatment .

2. Need to get the 3D mats , talked to HOT tracks on the same, they are quoting 11.5k for the 3.

3. Planning to order 70mai A800 dash cam , may be i will do this after the car delivery.

4. What are the standard accessories by default car delivered with ? They have offered me 10K bonus to buy accessories , not sure what i will get with that offer

5. Ordered new set of Jopasu duster and few micro fiber cloths for the new car (any suggestions on minimum car car equipment i should have helpful big time ) . I have been managing with duster + basic car wash pump + ONR liquid for my new car .

lot of questions

Thanks
