So, you exited from the ‘save water’ brigade.

I’ve been wanting to check, do you allow them to wash the engine bay too! I’ve never risked it, for, there are too many sensors in my car and I don’t take the risk.

Great.

Do you use any dash cam?

Any Recommendations on what to use?

I'm using 2 basic DDPAI models. In front it's a Mola & the back is a Mini. It's a DIY and I'm yet to route the wires into the headliner or door beadings. Both are wired to the rear 12v socket as of now. Plans are to hardwire them both into the main battery in the boot. For some strange reason, BMW has done away with the F30's 12v boot socket . Would have made things much simpler.

I'm happy with them. Good resolution and reliable so far. Costs a fraction of the 50K++ OEM or other high-end models. Only downside is the slow WiFi transfer rates when you want to download videos to your device.

If you're really keen to get a BMW one, get the newly launched Advanced Eye 3.0 which is expected to launch at ~55K. Don't touch the 2.0 with a bargepole.

Thanks!
Any idea when the Advanced Eye 3.0 would be launched in India?

More a forced resignation with the implicit threat of termination.

I believe it was originally expected to launch in July, but there is no clarity really. One good thing is that the manufacturer is Thinkware, which is among the best manufacturers and on par with Blackvue.

THINKWARE signs supply contract with BMW for two exclusive dash cams

What is the advantage of a dash cam in India? My understanding is that most insurance companies don't give any discounts for having it. And, if previous experience is any indication, most accidents, you cannot bank on third party. They might be uninsured or cops won't track them down even if you give the video. Worse is that there have been instances where the insurance companies use the older footage to deny your claim. Like earlier you were driving over speed limit etc.

A friend who works in insurance in India once told me that the dashcam footage should never be handed over, it can and will be used against you since that is easier than going against the other party, except you r lucky and that guy is also loaded and has same insurance etc.

Very much! Michelin PS4 tubeless is ~12K compared to P3ZP RFT at 19K. Perfinza is not available in the stock size and Vredestein is too new and relatively expensive to just try.

I cannot stand the Turanza T005 RFTs any more

PS4s are nice..
Did you check with SA if there is any problem with you switching to tubeless?

BMW SAs in BLR are usually super gloomy (like Honda sales team). Anything outside the rulebook, they claim all hell will break loose .

Best to ignore.

BMW Deutsche Bangalore seem to be a little more flexible. In fact last I spoke to them regarding the pricing and availability for both run flats and tubeless tires for the M340i.

I would vote for the PS4 too.
I used Pirelli P Zero on the 328i and wasn't too happy as the kms racked on. Was trying to hold off and get PS5 but ended up selling the vehicle before.

With tubeless you will need to be a little more careful, but the better ride & grip will be more than worth the trade-off.

I've been told that they can unofficially source the tubeless ones but will note it in the service record. As such I feel it should not be an issue unless any suspension-related warranty claims cone into play years later.

Just hoping PS5 will launch but having said that, it could be a relatively untried (for India at least) softer / sportier compound with stiffer sidewalls. The PS4 (ST version) that way has been around since June 2017 with no known issues.

Mix of Comfort & Sport mode coupled with 'school mom' driving. The powerful 2.0 is capable of great mileage as long as traffic is moving
