re: Prince Vegeta - My 1995 Mercedes E300D W124 with 500 BHP

Wooooow!
Read the whole article at one go. Felt as if I bought a Merc and did all the work Buying pre-owned car and doing up gives all the satisfaction than buying brand new car.
Happy motoring!

Fantastic car you have got there. Really superb effort you have put in to make her shipshape. I agree with GTO and so many others that you should preserve her in her original specs. Enjoy the car man!

re: Prince Vegeta - My 1995 Mercedes E300D W124 with 500 BHP

My thought when I opened your review, saw that it was a 1995 model car - Seriously? WHy would anyone waste money on it

My thought when I saw the final picture in this review - That is one sexy looking beast and I would love to drive it and totally worth the efforts put in.

Amazing car, are you planning on remapping the engine for a performance boost or you are going to keep it stock?

He has already mentioned that he has done changes in the engine and will be posting the updates on upgrades. So I guess the engine is not stock anymore.

re: Prince Vegeta - My 1995 Mercedes E300D W124 with 500 BHP

The perfect stance!
Are you going to upgrade to 19 inchers?
What gearbox are you planning to upgrade to?
What engine mods are to be carried out to achieve the said figure ? - Don't bother to answer these questions now! Let the answers come as a surprise and a delightful read for all others.

Bye bye! I'm off to OLX with "W124" in my search bar

re: Prince Vegeta - My 1995 Mercedes E300D W124 with 500 BHP

Hey man,

Congrats on your purchase, I remember we spoke on the OM606 build months ago on the Facebook page, am so glad you chose to keep the engine in a W124 and not the Jeep that you mentioned you wanted to put it into

Quick question: why does the intake manifold make it look like a stock turbo OM606?

Good luck with the build! I suppose you'll send the pump to Dieselmeken or Myna? What turbo did you finalise on? Since this is the NA OM606, what pistons are you going to upgrade to? I suppose the most cost effective gearbox is importing a used 722.6?

Anyway, really happy to see the car with you, keep us updated

First of all, thank you everyone. Glad you like the car.

Get some interior mods to make the car more liveable and you will never want to look at another car.

Bring her back to factory condition mechanically and visually.

Well gents, as much as I appreciate your suggestion on keeping it stock, but its too late to be wise now, its been 2 years and the car has nothing but upgraded only. The turbo build is almost at the verge of completion now. Although have taken care of supporting things as well like rubber parts replaced, electronics are never an issue with this etc. Plus the car is getting built as per its potentials and limitations, i.e a fast city and highway machine and not a corner carving monster.
Secondly, the car was bought with only intention of modifying it. Although, later I realised its legacy, but still for me its not a car that should not be modified. Maybe, I would like to keep a w123 or w114 stock, if I got a decent one in the future, but not a w124, unless its an e500/500e.

Hey, yes I remember. That was the case with a spare engine, which I wanted to swap to an old jeep made for offroading purposes only. But I am pretty occupied with this one, so that build is off the chart for now.

I will update everything in the coming posts and there is a ton of information which I want to explain in detail for the benefit of everyone so slowly but everything will be revealed soon.

Everyone who says this car should be kept stock - you may want to search for "OM606 Superturbo" on Youtube
The engine has immense capability.

Tastefully modded, gangsta spec cars are a rarity amongst the ricers around us. The W124 never caught my eye like the BMWs of the same generation, but this one is absolutely spectacular.

Cheers!

One of the best Merc of all generations. The stance looks proper Gangsta. Looking forward to the turbo build, sir.

On a side note, once the turbo build is done please revert back to the stock wheels. Will be a super sleeper smoking modern day sports sedans in traffic light grand prix...
