Nice to know. Please update on your ownership. I am curious to know:
  1. When did you change brake pads, tyres and battery (or are the original stuffs still holding)
  2. Was anything changed under warranty?
  3. How is the start-stop system holding?
  4. Are all sensors (like front, back, side ones) still working?
  5. Any mods and their reliability? (like stage1, ACC etc)

Dear Guna,
Thank you for your appreciation. Coming to the questions:
1) Break pads twice and discs once. Tyres at 28000 due to noise. There was enough life left on them. The original battery is holding on
2) Nothing has been changed under the warranty
3) Start-stop system is ok
4) All sensors working great
5) No mods

Regards

Thank you! More questions
Which tyre (brand/model) did you go for and how is the comfort compared to the original Hankooks?

Dear Guna,
Pirelli Scorpion Verde, it is better than the original one. Tyre noise has started creeping in but this time I will hold them for more time.

Re: My Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace - Ownership Review & Upkeep

@kalyan, I am late to this group. A very detailed and comprehensive review. It kind of cleared all my doubts when it comes to this vehicle. I've always loved the simplicity of the VW designs and the engineering that goes with it

My usecase is very similar to yours. A majority of the time, I would be using the 5 seats, occasionally (5-6 times a year) I will require the 7 seater. I am now seriously thinking of exploring options in the pre owned space.

Also if I pick up a 3-5 year old car, do you think it would be wise to hold on to it for 10 years? It obviously depends on the condition of the vehicle I am picking up. Assuming I get a good one, then would it be a wise decision.

I am looking at the Skoda Kodiaq cousin too, but in Bangalore I see a lot of cars that have been driven about 60k mark and that makes me jittery.

Let me know if there are any common watchlist items to keep check in a pre owned car of VW or Skoda
