They've always been available in Diesel. Dunno about what they sell in India, though.

Nice!, this one looks like a direct import rather than one sold by TKML. The 3rd ORVM, D-4D and the body kit tell the story.

Steer, AFAIK Indian Prados were V6 petrol only unless things have changed.

To begin with lemme start with how I feel about the Vehicle
  • Quite imposing
  • Good fit and finish
  • Not so good Flimsy bonnet release lever
  • Interiors are well finshed but monotonous Black shade somehow doesnt look very luxurious as the switches lack quality feel associated with a vehicle of this class, Even the steering looks very out of place in such an expensive SUV.
  • The leather seats offer good support
  • Stereo had been intenionally scored off the option list as the OE system was not a very impressive one.
  • Headlight is a very prominent part of the frontal design and almost dominates the overall look of the car, impressive .
  • Grille part not the most enticing bit as they seem to haverun out of ideas
  • DArk Wood finish that adorns the dash board and the door sides looks well finished.
  • AC Vents looks very very ordinary , in addition to that they have used it in every A-Z vehicls in their UV line up be it innova or Fortuner or Prado . Should have added a bit of chrome to make it look a bit more upmarket.
  • Speedo meter console looks great especially the silver lining surrounding the dials .
  • Tool kit houses almost everything ...well almost.
  • Rear looks good.
  • Skirts add a lot to the overall look of the car.
Driving Impression.

On starting the car , I found the note quite contained quite refined . Just to make sure of it , I got out of the car . The idling sound lacks smoothness . Once you rev it up it feels better. Opened up the bonnet and the engine sounded every bit like the D4d in innova though the 3.0 lit unit feels a bit more refined than the 2.5 litre

After taking out the car for a drive I found the engine quite good in its power range , pulls cleanly from low revs though the auto tranny is a bit slow on shifting. The car felt quite confident at higher speeds , never tried kamakazze or offroading as the owner of the car may do to me.(Nice icon by the way). Took the car upto around 130 and it felt stable and composed. Brakes were reassuring and has good bite in it. Thats all I can say about it for the moment. Will be getting a chance to drive her for around 300Kms soon . Will post a detailed review then.
