Congratulations on completing a year

Exactly! At least the Big 3s are recognised as expensive and luxury. Kodiaq is famous among the enthusiasts but not aam janta. I feel when people refer to my Kodiaq as Kushaq. Add to it, for no reason they start to ask price with their guess starting 25lac. And when I tell them the actual, 2 common question -
1) Why didn't you get the BMW then
2) Why exactly is there a 20lac difference between MG Hector and the Kodiaq
Post all that, some "Gyan" about, you could have just made a down payment on the house. Its difficult to learn to ignore

- sms confirmation of Driver details one day in advance,
- punctuality of drivers for pick up. SC is clear, if I could have it picked before 10am, will be the same day drop, anytime post is the next day. Post 6 years I can say that they are true to words
- I had a false oil temp warning from my last service, post I raised it, they picked up my car the next day morning and dropped it back in the afternoon

I think what worked is the same Advisor. This experience has not been the same with my sisters Honda city as their advisors changes every year

Due to pricing, not PPF, but I am thinking of Ceramic coat post monsoon. Keep us posted on where you planning to do it from and your feedback.

3 Ferraris, the Arabian Sea and a BMW

The Car came back from it’s service yesterday evening.

Took the car out early in the morning for a drive; Powai - Marine Drive - BKC - Powai. 3500kms up.

No traffic on a Sunday morning, Nariman Point practically empty where I can park my car, take pictures and a nice coffee at Oberoi. Caught 3 Ferraris and a X7 as the camera car

Other than the Engine Oil Service, other bits of the service included only wheel balancing alignment and exterior/interior washing. Bill came to about ₹ 24k.

Yes, I know it’s a massive amount for the 1st service but there is no chance this car is going back to Infinity Lalbaug, absolutely pathetic service. No updates on what is being on the car or what all is done and what needs to be done. Got a threatening mail from the service advisor stating you didn’t service your car according to the service reminder that is displayed on the cluster/infotainment system stating your engine and other mechanical bits warranty can be voided if not serviced on time. The car was not driven after 26th August when the service reminder would’ve first popped up.

Had they proactively booked the service on time and not goofed up the driver’s arrival time, this would’ve never happened, but this is just stretching the patience limits of someone who has paid a massive amount for BSI+ and BRI.

As said earlier will be taking the car to the service centre myself from the next time (Not Lalbaug for sure)… My parents are absolutely appalled at this service experience.

Next service is due in Sept 2023

Wheel alignment and balancing is the best money making business. Definitely not required at just 3500km.

Wheel Balancing is done only if you remove tyre from alloy rim.

Wheel Alignment to be done only if you find car not driving in a straight line or pulling towards left/right.

Not required to be done frequently.

Infinity Cars Workshop at Turbhe Navi Mumbai is very good. I would suggest you to build rapport with a SA for better service.

re: Blue Bolt | Our BMW X3 30i | Ownership Review | 2 years & 8,800 kms completed

Had got this message from Infinity Cars Turbhe about replacing the LTE Compensator.

Has anyone got this done or gotten a similar message regarding the same?

Does anyone know what exactly the part is, that is going to get replaced?

Quote:
Dear Sir,

Greetings from Infinity Cars.

According to our records, you are the owner of BMW Vehicle No. MH03DUXXXX.

The LTE compensator improves mobile communications in the vehicle by supporting the optionally offered wireless charging tray (WCT). The active LTE compensator currently does not have required country-specific radio licence in the affected markets.

During the ongoing quality analysis at BMW, it was determined that the active LTE compensator currently does not meet the current required specifications. We would like to ensure that your vehicle is in perfect working order. For this concern, The LTE compensator will be replaced which improves mobile communications in the vehicle by supporting the optionally offered wireless charging tray (WCT).

It goes without saying that this work will be free of charge.

Request you to kindly let us know the convenient time to get in touch with you so that the appointment can be schedule with pickup & drop facility

Yes, it got replaced in mine also (MY 21 X3) in July when I had gone to get a small broken fender part fixed. I didn't get a receipt for it so not sure what was the part number but on BMW one app service history, it shows up as a part costing Rs 11k.

Inching close to the 4000 km mark.

The car’s fuel efficiency has settled down to a decent 10-11 kmpl in the city, not bad for a 252hp engine with an AWD system.

Decided to go watch a movie in the Jio Drive-In theatre. A splendid experience!!

Places like this are for car-enthusiasts, you can sit beside your car and have a great time not worrying about who banged their car door against your’s and much more:

Have Team-BHPied the car as well :

Looks like a cat has decided to make the car its throne and decided to sit on top of the sunroof.

Will have to get either PPF/Ceramic Coating done ASAP. I was planning to delay it, but not after this for sure.

I am planning to go for PPF on the bumpers, bonnet, ORVM caps and door edges. Rest of the car with ceramic coating. Had taken some estimates from various detailers and for the above work they have quoted a figure somewhere around the 50k mark. Full PPF at 2Lakh+ is simply out of budget…

PPF sounds like a good idea but don't let these paw marks worry you too much. I have been getting those pretty much every day on mine for last one year but have not resulted in any scratches. Cat paws are soft padded and claws retracted, unless they jump on it from a height and lose grip.

I saw your car too, while walking around during the intermission!

I remember showing your car to my parents during the intermission, the way you had set it up to see the movie, with the bootlid open.

Even we wanted do something similar, but the spare wheel compartment being raised in our car was a deterrent.

Why is PPF/Ceramic coating such a massive business in India? It's unacceptable that a luxury car as awesome as X3 does not have enough paint protection to begin with.
