Re: My Pre-Owned Ford Endeavour | Ownership Review & Journal

When people are contemplating on taking the risk of buying the modern endeavour, you sir, have a lot of courage buying the previous gen and care a damn about Ford’s exit loved the confidence you have in maintaining a car that’s closing in on a decade mark. Clear example of looking at the way forward and not be bothered of the past - true testimony for a relationship - be with a human or with an automobile!

Truck looks absolutely nice. I got flattered with the amount of space it offers inside and should give a shout-out to the previous owner who’s maintained it well.

Btw, that Apple sticker at the rear windshield, do you think it should stay on or be removed? Also, any mods such as dechrome on the cards

Many congratulations! ...and very well written.

Wish you many many miles with your 'truck' - new discoveries and new memories. I own the next gen one and I can tell you for sure, you won't get a more capable vehicle in the range.

Wish you the best in your endeavours:-)

That is one beautiful vehicle and I find this model the most appealing among the other big suv's since probably a decade!

Wish you many miles of fun in this beast

Super compilation about a good truck.

Post those superb pics of the truck that you have posted on Instagram. And do get it here, let's do a full fledged pedal to the metal on the Trichy Chennai highway

Re: My Pre-Owned Ford Endeavour | Ownership Review & Journal

Here people are in a rush to sell off current gen Endeavours and there you go picking up a pristine older gen! Your passion shines through in this act, and your write-up.

This ownership thread is what t-bhp is all about- Passion.

This facelift version of the Endeavour looked real butch. The real wheel on tailgate made it stand out too. The only thing i did not like was the knees up position in the center row but one could easily live with it, especially if he/she was short.

Wish you many happy miles with the beast!

Re: My Pre-Owned Ford Endeavour | Ownership Review & Journal

A hearty congratulations. You cannot even imagine how jealous I am right now. You've made me throw all my plans for a fast sedan out of the window.

Should have pulled the trigger on the black 3.0L 4x4 from Gorakhpur with a faulty AC compressor. But nevermind, Vento is nice for the time being.

Re: My Pre-Owned Ford Endeavour | Ownership Review & Journal

I absolutely love this car. Suvs are butch, macho, go-go anywhere, But the only word that describes the original shape endy is Gangster! I know it's lovely to ride in, drive, and own, but Delhi examples just excluded this from my final buying list back in 2013. I love the analog feel of the fords of this time. Sturdy, well put together, and durable.
Congratulations, many of them!

Re: My Pre-Owned Ford Endeavour | Ownership Review & Journal

Congratulations VW2010 on a wonderful purchase.

I'm also a huge fan of these trucks from the yesteryear.

Simple interior & exterior design (consistent proportions) with huge windows + comfortable seats + minimal electronics + butch old-school looks + acres of space with customizations.

If I get a chance, will definitely try to own this truck & keep it as long as I can. It's a keeper!

Wishing you years of joy & memories with Endeavour.

Re: My Pre-Owned Ford Endeavour | Ownership Review & Journal

Congrats on your buy.

More than new, reading reviews of pre-worshipped purchases excite me more as somehow they seem to more thought into.

Endeavour to me represents the Superb of SUVs. Classy, underrated and very VFM from an owner's perspective. Have seen many Fortuner owners glooming about their purchase but I am still to find an Endy's owner who regrets his buy.

Re: My Pre-Owned Ford Endeavour | Ownership Review & Journal

Thanks to all. Answering a few questions here. In terms of cost, I think I did go slightly above a fair market value. The fair market value based on my search is as follows:

Quote:
Can you share the purchase price please. This may be a mouth-watering used car purchase in current scenario!
Note:- I did a lot of research, checked across India, different forums and chased enough cars before realizing it was worth spending slightly higher to get the facelift. Secondly, the price ranges differently in different states. For example, 2014 in Delhi may be 50k cheaper but also 20% extra nastier.

The assumption is that the car looks good, drives well, and average mileage of around 10k a year.

2011 - 10-year-old cars - Asking range 6-8, On table price - 4-5L @90k km and 4L for above 100K km
2014-2015 - 5-year-old cars - Asking range 10-12, On table price - 8-9L for cars above 90k km and up to 10 for sub 80K.

If you are in the market please check for the following - How clean the interior is, rust, suspension, brakes, timing belt(60K replacement) and in general who the seller is.

I paid somewhere around 8 and spent 30K on tires and 10 for fluids. Closed the whole deal including post-purchase check-up and changes below ~9L. I sold my Jetta for 5 if that helps.

The general rule of thumb for picking ford endeavor. The depreciation is approximately 1L a year and you pay for the number of years before you have to send it for the Fitness certificate as a value. Do not pay anything more than that.

I have never managed to get beyond 8-9kmpl in mine
8-9 looks ok if you drive spiritedly. So far I am not even interested to drive it like that and I am driving it very sedately. Highway speeds are between 80-95 and hardly pushing the car. I am not so enthused in highways to drive fast these days, thanks to the accident thread.

- Couldn't disagree at all. Especially when someone wants to squeeze in because they didn't change lane in time, I just stick to my space and they have to slow down and not take that risk to bully me.

I just noticed. I am going to leave it as is and I do not have one apple product. In fact, after using real me I haven't even looked at any flagship products on phone space . I am going to enjoy the judgemental view from strangers that I am an apple fanatic and hence "HEP".

Here are two pictures I forgot to load. The driver's view. I just merged a few images to create a view of what the drivers see to illustrate blind spots and in general 360 of driving space.

On the fear of potential bad components. JP German Tech (VW, Skoda & Audi Specialist Mechanic - Jai Prakash (Chennai)) did a full checkup and confirmed that there were no issues with CV joint, brakes were changed recently, timing belt was new, and pretty much did a precautionary oil change including the differential. So the car we picked was in a very good state and touch wood for that.

I don't drive fast, but yes I like to accelerate fast, at what speeds, does the overdrive engage in yours?, In mine it engages at 90, due to roads being congested here, sometimes, it becomes a struggle to get it to top gear.
Once it engages, then it flies silently.

I have a manual OD button. I can engage in all gears right from standing still and in general, this OD button keeps the RPM below 3K and changes gear faster. and at above 90 you do feel that extra gear. Ideal for long drives. Switching the OD off keeps the RPM higher and gear changes are slower providing that punch. It works at all speeds and you can feel the difference between on/off.

Yeah, I have this too, however it is recommended to be used within city or in hills. On long drives on highways, you need to keep it on to be able to cruise at lower RPMs.
