Sorry I missed answering this query.

I did not know goodyears would be noisy. Moreover my preferred choice of tyres is Michelin P4ST, which is atrociously priced now (close to 9k per tyre I hear). I did not feel like spending extra during the purchase.

Upsize is definitely on the cards. I am planning to get 195/60 R16, either Michelin or Continental UC6, after 1 year/35k km. 205 will look great but will make the steering much heavier. The steering as it is great and with 195 (stock is 185 for diesel) it will become a bit heavier, which would be awesome.

Ah! The typical Tata ownership fright. I occasionally check for oil level. If it is between the max and min of the oil check dip stick, i am happy.

Even if there arises an issue, I will not be much worried as long as warranty is there to cover for us. Focusing more on having a good time with the car than worrying about potential failures.

Every time I see an update from your thread. It brings a big smile on my face. Reason: I have booked an Altroz iturbo xz+, harbour blue petrol version in Dec 2021 and eagerly waiting to get my hands on it. Since there is no Altroz iturbo ownership thread in here, am taking inspiration from your thread to start off my ownership thread soon.

Happy flying for miles and miles with your Altroz(as from the source of the Altroz naming)

PrasannaDhana, your joyful journey with your gorgeous Altroz is one of my favourite threads on teambhp. Every other fortnight it is highlighted in the teambhp hot threads section and every single time I click on the link as soon as I see it.

And each time, I scroll back a page or two to revisit the previous posts as well. That's how good your journal is, especially with the stunning photos interspersed all over. Truly an enthusiast's journey indeed.

Thank you for sharing with us and look forward to being along for future rides. Keep up the excellent work!

Nice update on the Altroz Diesel variant. I am sure most of the altroz fans out there are going to appreciate this thread.

I have one query, what is the app that you are using for track fuel expenses. It seems very intuitive.

Your updates bring a smile. Taking note of crucial points. Won't filling the tyres below the recommended pressure be a potential safety hazard in terms of sudden braking/turning? Or is this level not low enough to be a hazard?

No- if you are going to be using it predominantly in the City or if your driving style is fuel efficiency oriented/ low RPM lugging style.
Congratulations on your 10k milestone, that too so soon. I've seen your short video, have to say, you are lucky to drive this car on such nice roads. I predominant drive around 100 kms in bumper to bumper traffic mixed with rare empty stretches. Diesel flies on empty roads, NVH is very good too, however in traffic this feels heavy and not at all peppy as my earlier 1.1 i10, light clutch helps though.

OT could you share more info on EGR update?

Congratulations on your booking! I heard Unofficial bookings have begun for Altroz iturbo DCT. Any plans of AT?

Thank you!

16 inch wheels with 185mm tyres across various OE cars have a recommended tyre pressure from 30 - 36 psi. Anything in that range isn't risky.

There are people who run on 29 psi and still don't have any ill effects with handling/tyre life.

Manufacturers overinflate their tyres for the sake of better ARAI fuel efficiency claims. Hence their recommendations are so.

I will have info about the ECU update during the 15k km service. Will let you know by that time.

Regarding the engine, I find it strange that you find a 1.1 N/A petrol peppier than the altroz. Do you use an altroz diesel? Because I found even the 1.3 MJD FGT(swift diesel) to be much peppier than the Hyundai 1.2 petrol in i20. The fiat 1.3 MJD has low end lag and even then it felt better. The 1.5 diesel of altroz is much better than the 1.3 MJD and I have fun driving within city too.

Yes, Hyundai's 1.1 was extremely peppy with excellent low end torque. It may be the weight of the Altroz. i10 was light as a feather while Altroz feels like a vault.

Reading this thread is always an absolute delight. In fact, your review is one of the main reasons why I booked the Altroz, albeit the turbo-petrol version.

I've got a query though. During the PDI, I noticed a few niggles when it comes to the fit and finish of the car including sloppily cut door liners and a minor scratch which the dealer assured me would be fixed by the time of delivery. The most glaring issue however, was a rather large strip of paint drip under the driver's side door. I was wondering if this is consistent with the experience you've had with your multiple TATA cars or was I allotted a particularly bad specimen?

Firstly, congratulations on the booking!

In my experience, I have been lucky to get cars without any niggles so far. You need to take it up with the dealer and discuss solutions. Do you have any pics of the defects you noticed?

Asking a different sample will mean that your delivery day will be postponed a couple more months.

The delayed delivery is the reason I don't want to ask for a different sample as we were supposed to take the delivery on the 24th and my family is already exited for a new car. I've attached the pics of the noticeable defects below

1) Paint drip under the driver's side door

2) Door liner with sloppy edges

3) A scratch on the left read passenger's door

The dealer said that the paint issues would be fixed by the time of delivery although I am apprehensive about the quality of their touch up work. The internals of the car seem fine though with no apparent issues.

It looks like very minor stuff. Paint drip is unusual though. I wouldn't mind though. I think the dealer can sort these out pretty effectively.

Ending February 2022 with 11,200 km on the odo.

My storme was used for a week, thereby hitting the 50k km milestone. Celerio was untouched except for the usual tank fill up and air check drive. Kwid was used for 3 days.

February has been the lightest month on the Altroz. As usual, March will be one of the busiest. Altroz has clocked 2285 km in this month.

MID fuel efficiency for the month is 19.1 kmpl whereas actual fuel efficiency from tankfull to tankfull method stands at 18.89 kmpl.

I will admit, whenever I see an update from you, it automatically brings a smile to me. Probably the most loved Altroz of our forum and you’re a very good photographer too. My sister’s Altroz is at 20k kms now and we love it, mileage is good too at around 18kmpl for a heavy car with tiny petrol engine
