Chevy Spark...Chevy U-VA...comparative test drive report!

Hi! Test drove Chevy Spark and Chevy U-VA. Here goes the report! I am rating it in a scale of 1-10, where 10 is best in class and 1 is worst in class.

For Chevy Spark, the obvious comparison is among the following

1. Hyundai Santro
2. Suzuki Alto
3. Zen Estilo
4. Wagon R
5. Fiat Palio Stile

And for Chevy U-VA its
1. Swift
2. Getz Prime
3. Fiat Palio Stile (Purely bacause of the size fo the car)

I just walked into a showroom and had a look at the Spark and U-VA and test drove both of them (first the Spark and then the U-VA)
SPARK - U-VA
1. External Looks : 9 - 7
2. Interiors : 8 - 7
3. Driver Seating : 7 - 6
4. Passenger Front Seating : 7 - 8
5. Rear Seating : 6 - 8
6. Boot Space : 6 - 9
7. A/C : 7 - 7
8. Gear Shift : 7 - 7
9. Pick up in 1st gear : 8 - 7
10. Pick up in 2nd gear : 8 - 6
11. Pick up in 3rd gear : 6 - 7
12. 4th and 5th gear : 8 - 7
13. Torque : 8 - 7
14. Build quality : 7 - 8
15. Ride : 7 - 8
16. Handling : 8 - 7
17. Suspension : 6 (bumpy) - 8
18. Handling on bad roads : 7 - 7.5
19. Turning Radius : 9 - 8
20. Value for money : 7 - 6

I cannot comment of the fuel efficiency as I didn't test that. But if you ask my heart, I found Spark to be much peppier and practical car than the U-VA. For U-VA size of car, at least 1.3 litre engine was a must!

If someone is evaluating to buy a Santro, Estilo or Wagon R, Spark is definitely a choice which will grind the buyers mind.

For U-VA, in my opinion Getz or Swift make a clear difference and the buyer may decide to choose them over U-VA

Happy Motoring!
