WOW! Any reason why Superb is not materializing? I would have imagined the other way round.

Absolutely not! It was take it OR leave it. Do try your luck with the insurance discount.

I did do a TD but it was on smooth roads so I cant really say if the ride is stiff or bad or bouncy. It was just flat.

The legroom of the Superb is excellent but the Kodiaq was not bad but still Superb legroom is unbeatable. Superb they are unable to get due to lack of stock.

I have a take it or leave it for the car without any discount, but theyre allowing me to do the insurance on my own.

Hi. Does your Sportsline Kodiaq have the Fatigue alert ? Also for TPMS Skoda offered to do it after I bought the vehicle at the workshop. You can try for that.

That’s a good tip. Will ask the workshop.
I think fatigue alert is there but never been alerted :)

On my way to Indore, always take the first break at Igatpuri Starbucks.
Kodiaq has just done 4000 kms in 6 months due to business travels. Must say car still feels new and excite me the way it did when I brought her home.

Lovely reading the review all over again as well as your trips to Indore.

How are the roads between Mumbai to Nashik please. I was trying to plan a drive to Mhow later this year but I’m told the roads from Mumbai to Nashik are absolutely horrid at the moment. Hopefully nothing that should trouble cars like Meridien or Kodiaq?

Thank you.

Great to see you enjoying your car on the highway, it's a fantastic cruiser. The white looks super classy with the black inserts! Would love to read future updates.

Also, a very late but still sincere appreciation of your review, it's very well written and supported by great pictures. :)

You’re right, roads till Nashik is pathetic, esp right after Thane till Kalyan. Took us 3 hours to reach Igatpuri. Post that it’s moving traffic but Maharashtra section of NH47 is filled with potholes. Horribly managed I must say. Whereas MP section is absolute serene. 400 kms of MH took us 8 hours and 200kms of MP took little less than 3.

But yes, would be a breeze for your Meridian :)
Kodiaq did very well, ride in my Vento all these years felt very harsh, Kodiaq on the other hand didn’t sweat a bit, and neither did we :thumbs up

Hi Jangra. We also do Mumbai-Indore-Bhopal trips - started since the pandemic and now we prefer driving down rather than flying. And yes MP roads are awesome but unfortunately, the MH roads disappoint.

Coming to the car, how has been your experience in the stop-go Mumbai traffic. I am asking with respect to the DSG behavior. I drive City CVT and its absolutely smooth but have been reading about slight jerkiness of the DSG in Mumbai like traffic conditions. You have experienced it in Vento and now in Kodiaq so eager to hear from you.

Kodiaq used to be pretty jerky in the initial days, but with time I find it pretty smooth. Can’t beat the smoothness of CVT but the jerkiness is no longer felt.

On a side note - it’s a breeze to drive Vento in Mumbai city with its lively performance and the smaller size. I try to avoid Kodiaq when I can on a weekday due to always busy roads in our town, thanks to the metro construction.

I don't have a clue on how the Kodiaq rides but have been through a slipped disc over ten years ago. I had ride comfort (mainly back pain focused than anything else) on top of my list whilst choosing the Verna back in 2012 and the A4 in 2021. Since you're already contemplating a similar price point I would highly recommend checking out the A4 incase you haven't done so already. The ride has an underlying firmness to it but it doesn't crash into potholes or have any bone jarring effects by a long shot. I've done close to 18K through varied urban terrain in the past year or so and I really have zero complaints with regard to back pain etc.

Thank you. I test drove a bunch of cars. A4, A6, Superb, Kodiaq, City, and have realised that our roads are so great that we need an SUV only, so the only VFM proposition is the Kodiaq as of now even though I find it a bit expensive.

Had a Sportline ready for me, but I let it go for an L&K . So I am yet to finalise but SUV seems better. I was also considering waiting for the Enyaq but theyre expecting it to cost 60-70 lacs which is a lot in my opinion. :Frustrati

I was checking out Bilstein and Koni out of curiosity. Looks like both have struts and shocks for the Kodiaq and these could be aftermarket solutions for added ride comfort.

I know most people wouldn't even consider these given warranty concerns but just saying :)

What would be your feedback on the aircon after driving it in fairly hot+humid conditions for the last 6 months?
  1. How does it work in manual mode? I've read opinion about the auto mode not being great
  2. Does it cool the last row seats well or does it take forever to cool the last row?
Thanks in advance and thanks a ton for keeping the thread updated.

It sure works better in the manual mode. Auto mode let’s in the fresh air and is not ideal for city driving. In hot and humid, there is always more to desire from the Kodiaq AC, and which is where I prefer Vento as the AC performance is far superior. May be it is due to the larger and roomier cabin of Kodiaq. Third row for sure could be avoided in the hot weather, we fold the 2nd row middle seat when my daughter insists on using the third row

Congratulations! Can one consider the Kodiaq, as Skoda's version of the Audi Q3/4?
