Re: Pre-owned 2017 Toyota Etios Liva | Ownership Report

Toyota boredom continues. Got an automated service call from Toyota reminding me that i have a service due at the end of the month. Since i had bought the car in feb, i assumed there was a 6 month service schedule like my indica used to have and called them.
They said not needed, next service is due at 10k km or 1 year from my last service, so no need to do anything now. The car was apparently sold in August so their reminders were based on that.

Driving a 1.2 V in Goa (vacay) right now. Liked the car to quite an extent that I looked up reviews on the forum; yours was the closest observation to mine in general. Fun little car, this!

Definitely would consider this for a beater car, though (BLR) city driving wouldn’t exactly be the best experience in it.

Got the bodywork done. Damage was 4.5k, very satisfied with the job.
First pic is the scratch as it happened, second is after rubbing compound. First two pics have the wrong colour as my camera app was having issues with colour balance. Didn't get the dent fixed as i was mostly worried about rust

Re: Pre-owned 2017 Toyota Etios Liva | Ownership Report

Hello All,

I currently own a Etios liva petrol 2012 Model with 60K on the Odometer. Had bough it pre-owned in 2014 with 19k on the Odometer.
Attaching my last service report for Etios liva petrol. Many areas require attention.
If someone could please help me out what needs to be done on immediate basis.
Also any good and trustworthy workshop in Mumbai near- Kandivali/Borivali where I can get it serviced.
Plan was to get it serviced from Lakozy-Malad as till date i have service my car here. But the estimates were high, so looking for some good external source.

Thank you in Advance.

It looks like a lot of plastic bits from the electricals are missing. For those, Toyota is the best bet as they can get hold of these hard to get parts. Alternately if you have any scrapyard contacts, you can try there. Boodmo is also an option if you can navigate and identify the right part numbers (but given that you are asking help with this, I assume the answer is no). If you do not replace them in time, your electricals will start to corrode and your bodywill start to rust

Your tyres seem to have uneven wear - You will need to replace them sooner or later. Rotate them at the bear minimum, and have your ball joints etc inspected. This can be done at an outside workshop. If your tyres are too far gone, you can buy them from any tyre dealer

Re: Pre-owned 2017 Toyota Etios Liva | Ownership Report

I had replaced spark plugs in 2022 when i bought the car. During the last service, Toyota service insisted on changing them every two years/20k kms. Initially I protested, but later I saw that this was in line with their service manual.

The part that Toyota uses is NGK OEM, and on the NGK product details page, their version of the product has a 90k km service life. Any idea why this discrepancy? I'm fairly new to petrol maintenance, so would like some inputs.

Generally happy with Toyota service, so planning to keep going there.
