Thanks for a very informative thread...in fact all the information provided has helped me make a purchase decision,I have recently purchased a pre-owned 2022 luxury 1.4 tgdi carens with around 12000 kms on odo.
The car is quite good to drive but I have a small query with regards to its idling rpm, while driving the car whenever I shift the gear to neutral and lift my foot from clutch the rpm shoots up from 700 to say 1000-1200 for a second before again coming back to 700.Can you confirm if this is also happening in your car as when I spoke to service advisor at frontier kia he said its normal behaviour ?Before buying the car I had got it checked at Kia service centre and they had given it a thumbs up but I havent noticed this issue in any of my other turbo cars (ertiga diesel, nexon petrol).
*this is my first ever post on team-bhp so please excuse for any oversight

Congrats on the purchase !
Yes, this is quite normal after they released and updated the firmware to combat the lag issue. This spike in RPM is absolutely normal and happens in all the carens I know :thumbs up
Thanks for quick reply (my earlier post with only thank you didnt make it through :) guess something to do with forum rules ?)
Anyways..great pics..must have been quite an adventure to take your Carens all the way to Leh!!.
I am still to come to terms with the loss of power/turbo lag in the 2nd gear and end up stalling the car even in slight inclines at times so not sure how I will manage it in such steep terrain if I ever plan to travel there (Kia SC said the software patch for this issue is already updated in the car)
On a separate note wanted to ask you if you have ever got 5 tyre rotation done in your Carens ? As I understand it has tpms installed in only 4 tyres and this is my 1st car with tpms so have been thinking how it can be done.
The only thing I really missed in this variant were functional fog lamps. Even the top spec variant has useless fog lamps in terms of throw.
After a lot of research, finalized HJG Future Eye 4 fog lamps. The biggest advantage of selecting this was their size - which fits perfectly in the slot/grill without any cutting or making holes in it. Slide it in, use 3M double tape and you are done.
Also, the same set of lights have dual colors - white and yellow.
Purchased it via Amit - 8800878716 ( he has a youtube channel - RideWithResponsibility ) - he ships/couriers pan India.
Cost - 3400
Purchased Minda wiring harness and 3 way switch from Karol Bagh, Delhi.
Wiring Harness Cost - 800
Switch - 200
Installation - 300 ( including extra wire )
I have not driven it extensively at night, but so far on a stationary car, just love the throw and road hugging visibility.
Looks Post Installation -
Pre/Post Installation -
Wiring Harness -
Switch Installation -
Wire runs parallel to gear central console.
I have not attached switch or drilled hole anywhere. Its stuck between seat and central console.
Light Throw -

These lights look camouflaged until turned on.:thumbs up
One observation- I see the left side light is focused nearer to the car compared to the right one. Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

Must be how it looks on the photo, else measurement wise it is exactly aligned equally from both ends.

Can you please post a photo from the driver's seat as well? Want to see the beam patterns and range

Here you go -
White Fog Light + High Beam -
Yellow Fog Light + High Beam -
Only White Fog Light -
Only Yellow Fog Light -

Is it just me or do I see:
- yellow light in the bottom when white light is used?
- white light is aimed higher and has more output than yellow light?

Correct.
Wanted to use white light more and that's the reason it's installed it like this. Else if yellow if yellow is priority, the bar can be inversed for installation.

Thank you so much! This gives me a good idea if it suits my use case or not.
I have the single projector ones from HJG currently.
Looka great! Does it void warranty?

Tyre rotation has been done only in the 4 tyres till now - infact in all my previous cars too the tyre rotation was done for the running set only.

I don't think so - i am about 1500 kms short of servicing, and will then see whether they pin point it. In any case we have not touched existing electrical wiring, and these are additional relays.

Thanks for the response. I have always gone for 5 tyre rotation and would have preferred the same as the spare tyre is not a space saver, it is of same size and speed rating as the other tires. Will check on the TPMS with the service centre once.
