get on 1.1?

Well Mahu....atleast you got the Sales person said the right thing abt the leather steering grip, gear knob however got it wrong for the Engine Immobilizer. This feature was never introduced in 1.6version nor it is currently.

Here in my place, the dealer completely refused to acknowledge that the leather steering grip, gear knob is now reintroduced!! :(

Also the website is littlest updated for the exact changes done on the car.

As per their policy they are subjected to change as they say "[FONT=Frutiger-Cn][SIZE=1][COLOR=#231f20]
The contents are not binding and are subject to change without notice."

The brouchers also if check clearly might not be updated....

Are the documents/manuals atleast updated as per the car given to you??

Sigh!! When can they grow up! Tatas wont take so much care of ur baby, Mr. Fiat!!

all you have to do is look at the dash for the immobilizer indicator which flickers a bit while starting and you will know if its there or not

I am interested in the Palio1.6 stile but after going through this thread I feel like re-considering. Does this Fiat model have so many problems? I mean, it may not be a new model but if Fiat uses good materials and does good engineering why should a new car face so many problems? I have heard that A.S.S is poor but even if we factor that into our calculations this just doesn't seem right. I believe a new car however unpopular the model should run without problems for the first two years of normal usage.
Just a thought- I see you guys keep stressing about its excellent drivability but is it worth so much that we can overlook all these hassles?

Cheers,
Zaks

It hasn't been a bad experience for me so far - Could it have been better? Sure, absolutely - but the product itself is pretty rock solid, all issues have been extraneous, and one learns to work around them ....

Ride Height

Hi,

I just saw a new 1.6, and am not sure if it's me or is it that the new 1.6 has a much higher ride height than the old one.

I could put in a fist between the wheel arch and tyre at least.

Cheers

buy a new palio 1.6

I am planning to buy a new car and fiat palio 1.6 is in my list. I was wondering if I will get discounts on 1.6, I called up concorde motors, chennai for the price, they will get back to me on monday.

Should I bargain, expected discount would be from the dealer or the company? It seems they need to order in advance if it is a 1.6, so i guess discounts are very unlikely...I can be wrong here.

In Oct 2007, I got my Palio Stile 1.6 Sport OTR Mumbai for 4.7 lakhs with some freebies like mudflaps, mats, music system of Kenwood (very basic) and teflon coating thrown in. I guess the RTO prices have since increased across the country. Anyways, I think you should bargain for something around 4.7 OTR with the dealer + some freebies.

Hi,
You can always ask for a discount in the range for 30k to 50k. Concorde hyderabad was offering a discount of 50k so asking for this amount is fairly reasonable. Make sure that the dealer sticks to his delivery schedule because the 1.6 is delivered only on order.
Once you get the car you will have the time of your life.
There is nothing better than the 1.6 even 7 years after its launch in the indian hatchback segment !!!!
Good Luck.

a 50k discount is given here in Mumbai on Palio Stile. Basically registration and insurance is free. They also give the floor mats and a music system, basically Wasan Motors says that once you take delivery you dont need to go anywhere for any additional installations.
