Wow! Atleast now.

Safari is a real capable offroader. If a 4X2 got you so much, then how will a 4X4 do.

Don't think a lot. We're coming down there to see you ride that thing with us in the backseat.
So, When??

Guys, guys, I am no expert SUV test driver. You can do what I did, all you need is a few bad roads, I am sure your cities have them.

Hey, I am not buying this to shoot photographs. I am looking at Passion Red instead. Expect this to happen next month.

Good choice samurai, except that do not try to attempt the stunts they show in the safari ad. Potholes are ok, not the jumps.
In the ad where the safari is jumping the chasis broke on impact of landing. It was driven by vikram mathias.
So unless you are going do some serious "RECLAIM YOUR LIFE" stunts, it will be a good vehicle to have.

Just want to share my experience:

When I bought Safari, I was so skeptical to take it to our basement car-park. The basement car-park in our apratment is crooked and is full of pillars and has two such S-curves.

I started parking the monster on one of the empty surface car-parks and the developer promptly contacted me and asked for a good sum for the surface car-park. I thought let me atleast try taking the truck to basement before buying another car-park. The first time it was pretty difficult, but, very soon I was able to park it without a significantly raised blood-pressure.

Moral of the story: You will get used to it faster than you expect!

Looks like the wait in BLR is long. Over here Silver is in stock, i,e, pay today and get tomorrow, for Passion red it will take 3-4 days when they order.
Since Samu will be getting from MGLR, the wait may be less.
If you buy an EX 4x4 the wait is even less because the LX 4x2 is the most popular model.

I took a test drive of a Safari recently - and came away mighty impressed as well!

GONE was the "Vagueness" the steering used to have - in fact found it very taut and responsive!... Unfortunately was a short drive - but took a couple of turns at decent speeds and found the handling more than adequate - upsizing the footwear will obviously shore up that front immensely!

The engine itself was very silent - in cabin noise was in fact I think on par, or if not a little better than my Accent CRDi. The seats were extrememly comfortable - the clutch travel did seem a tad longer than the cars I am used to but was light enough.

All in all I am seriously comtemplating picking up one - .. erm....in Black ....
