The back seat is way more comfortable than the last generation C Class comprising of enough head room and leg room.
That is very good indeed, this was one area I did not like in the older c-class especially if you had very tall drivers.

Great first impression and drive review Stratos. Personally i thought that the present gen C is not quite a Merc. I dont know how to say this but the build quality and the snug, safe feeling one gets in any other mercs was just missing. Even the car got temperamental on the highways giving one a very Jap/Korean car feel. But the new one looks better and should have all the gremlins (well at least most) sorted out. Should also ride and feel better. Will just have to wait and watch

you drove the C350 which comes only in sport trim and has harder suspension settings.the C300 luxury should take care of that negative.

Shock pricing by Mercedes. Base price of C300 sport is $31,975 where as BMW 328i is $32,400. Mercs have always been at least a couple grand more expensive than Beemers.

. What does one have to do with the other? Pure coincidence if any. BTW DC merger went on until Aug 2007.

I meant, from the point of the merger (1998) till about 2005. Could be coincidence, could also be change of management to define design to curtail costs. Thats anybody's guess.

But the good thing is Merc is back to what it was known for doing.

So I saw it in the flesh. Was still not impressed.

The front end looked nice (though very 3 series IMO with the short overhang),

but the rear is one area I just cannot digest. Reminds me far too much of the NHC BEFORE the small redesign it had.

And to all those who said the current wing mirrors were small, man, these new mirrors are larger than what the Scorpio has!

Yeah man, I was just wondering where I have seen those rear lights. Until you mentioned the NHC.

Front end is better, but somehow I feel its a little too "mature" for the C-Class.

Fantastic review there Stratos. The new C does look macho and very muscular. Not the conventional merc styling but a welcome change. The Sports version with AMG bumper and the wheels etc... how much more is that from the base version?

The tail-lights however are ugly IMO. They look like the enlarged NHC tail lamps.

I personally feel its a very well worked-upon C Class from MB and trust me, once it starts selling, it will GROW ON US......like the NHC or new CR-V for that matter of fact! ......I have been waiting for this machine for long and would be the first one to book it from Jaipur.....all I need in my hands is a good MANUAL petrol C.....!

Hmmm.... not yet impressed, doesn't look good enough & dare I say looks a bit mismatched with a weird front & a relatively conservative rear.

PS: NHC Tail lights (Inverted) & Indigo Head Lamps

Somehow I quite like the look of the new c the old c though a stunner in profile and rear the front( yuck! those amoeba headlamps and the design as a whole did not give the feeling of a mercedes. The new C quite resembles the mercedes of the old era before the W210 with those twin head lamps was introduced. The new c quite reminds me of the first mercedes I got to see at close quarters a pristine white W124.
