i already own the NHC Vtec - one of the most reliable car. The only problem you might face is the fuel pump problem - but the ichibaan breakdown service was quite efficient to fix it within 24 hours (that too in lonavla) in the warranty period else its around Rs. 17k - so an extended warranty if advised.

Thanks Saumil. Will keep that in mind. Is it a recurring problem with the fuel pump, or is it a one off you had? I am talking to Arya Honda. Tell us your experience with the NHC.

Here in Chennai the OnRoad Price is 8.95 Only.
I planned to Buy Honda Vtec by October. i had a TD and very impressed the way it handles. But Don't compare with OHC Vtec. It's good for the Brand. On the Bottom line the tyres are very flimsy.Only 175/65/14.and the Alloys are boring.I need to upgrade. Please gimme suggestion for upgrading with right size,Tyre Brand and Alloys Brand too.
Thanx for Help.

At last i got some NHC thread ,I have just last week booked NHC exi version as my budget while selecting car was 6.5 then i finally went for city exi whihc cost me 7.8L on road as they where offering 10k cash discount. i have select black colour and waiting for my delivery whihc is expected by coming thursday.
I compared many cars with it and finaaly i had to decide between sx4 and city and in end it was city as it had high resale value and it is tried and tested in the market as compare to new sx4

Nice review. True, the new VTEC doesn't give that adrenaline rush that the OHC VTEC used to give.

After doing a lot of research and being keenly aware of budget constraints imposed by my company, I fell for the NHC Gxi. I am dealing with Arya Honda in Prabhadevi. With that I am putting in lots of accessories like alloys, fog lamp, leather seats, wooden dashboard and door trims etc. The color is Galaxy Grey.

TDed the car, since I had TDed the vtec earlier. Felt pretty good. All the talk of lack of response on higher gears and low torque may be true but for all practical purposes don't make much of a difference in daily use. The interiors are certainly better than most, especially with all the jazz I am adding. The car handled pretty well, and sharp turns on Worli Seaface road was very good. NVH is excellent. The tyres do look a little undersized, but I guess I will live with it for sometime. The response with 5 onboard and AC on was quite acceptable even on 3rd gear, keeping in mind that it is a sedan for normal use.

Honda is planning launch a model between GXi & VTEC, with ABS & AirBags, sometime around Diwali time. More discussion here: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...-vtec-gxi.html

This might be perfect for you

Well, I did 2-3 U turns and the car handled well. The turning radius was also very good.

Hey man, if its underpowered why does it whip every other car (in its category) on the highway?
Note: He is buying for his use in city.

0-100 figures for

fiesta 1.6 - 11.43 sec
city iDSI - 13.11 sec
city Vtec - 10.66

And more surprize:---------

40 - 100 kmph (in 4th gear)
fiesta 1.6 - 17.21 sec
city iDSI - 17.76 sec
city Vtec - 17.29

So if I am driving at 50kmph and suddenly need to accelrate and overtake someone, iDSI is just as fast as anybody else, that too with only 77 bhp and 15kmpl FE.
