The hunt comes to an end - Cedia it is!

Team:

It was atleast a couple of months back I was baptised in this forum - while I was looking around for a 7.5-8.5 lacs category car.

The front runners then were Honda City and Cedia..and then I started my pilgrimage to other dealers and went through multiple selection spasms on Ford fusion, Fiat Palio Stile 1.6(though far below my budget), U-VA, Aveo 1.4, and almost booked all these cars..but somehow was not 100% sure and did not place the order and decidedto wait - Blessing in diguise was my company car lease contract which was not ready - And when it got ready they extended it to 5 yrs from 4 yrs - which meant reduced EMI for whatever car - I took the plunge finally and booked the Cedia.

I am going for a Manchester Red Cedia Select - Should be able to hit the road on 1st Oct!

Other Cars I test Drove:

Ford fusion (Petrol)
New Honda City
Fiat Palio Stile 1.6
Fiat Palio Stile 1.1
Cherolet U-VA
Chevrolet Spark
Aveo 1.4
Ford Fiesta
Ford Ikon

The reasons for the buy:

1. The "driver's car" feedback
2. Neat pricing - considering ABS/EBD/Airbag/Music/Alloys etc
3. 2000 Cc / 115 Bhp
4. The front Grill looks- though I still haven't come to terms with the rear look.
5. The exclusivity and brand image of Cedia - The racing lieage
6. Soft reasons - Space, Almost Nil noise levels, quality interiors, boot space etc..

If I had not driven Cedia, I would have bought a Ford Fusion..I think thats another car that looks "young" on the road.

I know I am taking the risk on Resale - there are none available in the used car market - and I have seen specific request for this car - so hope it would not be as bad as it is made out to be.

The A/c on Cedia - For both the cars I Test Drove, the A/C in the passenger cabin was not good enough - has anyone else felt the same?

So, mates, wish me luck!

Regards,
Manu.

Manu, this section is for deciding your next car. If you have already decided, why post it here?

Didn't you check that out before you booked the car ? Or were you willing to compromise on this ?

Err not sure maybe its the hyderabad heat taking its toll but here in bangalore I never have to put it beyond the "1" position or else it gets incredibly cold.

Have to admit one thing though... I've never been on the rear seat really.

Many Congrats! Cedia is a nice choice!

How did you feel about Palio Stile 1.6 which you test drove?

Thank you gentlemen for all the encouragement!

Samurai! Guess that's why I am still a newbie!

Why don't we start a thread called something like the "The official Cedia Owner's Thread" or something...? you see I have my vested interests in that....

Or does something like that already exist? Or worse, things like that are banned on the forum or something...

I wanna send my hugs to the moderators - This is a great forum!

Regards,
Manu.

So far my review thread in long term ownership reports is where most of the cedia info has been posted... You might want to start another one or continue in that one.

I am surprised you found the A/c not satisfactory. In fact I find it very powerful and if you read most of the cedia reviews on this forum, a lot of members have complimented the A/c for its quick and effective cooling power. I guess it had something to do with the condition of the TD cars you drove.

BTW, I didn't know we get the 'Select' model in manchester red color!
