you are quite an info guy , well your post has brought me into t bhp and i am now quite participting , now i would like to give my feed back .
i wanted a 4x4 and started scouting , i already have a modified gypsy but may be i want little comfort and daily runner also.
i do have a scorpio which 4 years old but its only 4x2.
so i am more interested or left out with safari 2.2 and i first test drove a demo piece which has done 60 k and then driven a brand new felt much better but both are 4x2.
i have driven 4x4 safari which is a 3.0 dicor
well seeing all 4x4 will come into play when only needed first of all i am not an enthusiast to take safari into ditches but i dont want to get stuck, so having 4x4 is always good, if i want a have real fun i have the gypsy which can give me the best.
coming back to the point yestarday i test drove the ford endy thunder +. i coudnt believe what this ford guys have done in this , thats a monster on road or offroad its 150+ bhp and 380nm torque and you can see the vehicle flying after 2000 rpm , its as if you have to tame it or control it.
do i really have to compare safari and endy on this matter and i am comparing the safari 2.2 ex and thunder +
pricing is a different and ofcourse you must be knowing all whats the difference , wht do u recommend .
as i was talking to one of my friend , he was telling me if your really happy with endy then wait for fortuner and then see the difference as fourtuner and endy or of one class.
little confused if i have to pick endy means i have to wait till fortuner comes, and feel the difference in comfort and my priority is
comfort and performance
then comes 4x4 for just incase of steep hills in ooty not all the places but some places i have seen you need that.
ofcourse keeping the above preferences in mind i need Value for money.
so what would you recommend :)
Had a chance to TD the SAFAR 2.2. I was undecided between Safari and Scorpio till this TD.
On starting the Engine it felt like a tractor! The sales person says "Sir, this is TD vehicle thats why. New vehicles will have have any sound"
Turn the steering to one end while reversing "GRRRRRRR" - sounds again. Same excuse by the sales person.
Now try to shift to 1st gear and I almost have to reach out to the passenger seat. Same excuse by the sales person.
Now, onto the road. The steering felt like it was responding to my turn after a few seconds (I guess this is the feedback and it was actually turning correctly)
After reading all the posts here I was very disappointed after the TD.
Maybe, I was just unfortunate that I got a very badly beaten TD vehicle!
