Regarding colours, there are 9 choice of colours in theory. But, if you want to order anything other than the safe colours (White/Black/Silver), it takes 3 months for delivery. This place it too hot for one more black car, so I am going with silver. The delivery time is between 15-30 days, apparently these colours are already on the ship travelling to India.

I have no idea what that means.

Samurai, is the new Vitara having AWD all the time? Or does it have a selection option (too lazy to refer to auto mags :) ), if all the while, then yes definitely will drink more. Same holds true for Crv.

Yes, it is either AWD, 4H, 4L or NWD. NWD is no wheel drive, to be used for towing purposes. If cops decide to tow a locked car, they will damage the 4WD system.

Maruti issues an "Autocard" to every customer. This can be used to earn points and use them to pay service bills,accessories,etc..
So, If U use Eddy's autocard number as a referral, he would making something around Rs.1000 to Rs. 3000 as a referral bonus.

Samurai, congrats, I like your style! Poor Tata Motors, lucky Maruti Udyog. I hope this is not out of loyalty to Maruti though:D (just kidding!)

Enjoy your new ride & look forward to reading some crisp reviews as you munch the miles

Congratulations Samurai. I like the following line from you.

I want to buy a good SUV while I am still below 40. I am done waiting for the next best thing to be released.

I can relate to that :). I am still waiting for Captiva before I make my final choice.

Congrats cheers: , so the decision is made and will eagerly await for your LTO report.

San Samurai

Congrats on your choice. Have always admired the Vitara - I look forward to the wonderful pictures that you will be taking :-)

Congrats Samurai. The GV has almost everything going for it as long as one is ok about the FE. I would love to own one, someday ;)

I presume you will take the MT?
What is the OTR price there? MT is 14.9 in Kolkata IIRC.
Any discounts/freebies?

WOW congrats, if i spot the silver GV anywhere in M,lore.... i know who is driving:)

Same here.

Samurai-san,
Please share the details of the deal (and photos)...

hi Samurai, good to see you settling for an SUV. tempted to ask you one question: did you decide not to take a second look at the Safari 2.2 since you didn't get a TD then? The reason i ask is that my excitement in seeing the Safari was dampened last Saturday, with the car being sent to Hassan for the launch there. The problem, i think is to do with a single demo car being available with the dealer (i was told the last time that they got to buy these demo cars and that would make it a not-so-worthwhile investment proposition, for them).

The ex-showroom price is 14.11L, there are no discounts it being a new car, but I am haggling for all terrain tyres.

Lohith, there are 6 Vitaras in Mangalore itself.

That chapter is closed, let me not comment on that.
