Yeah thats bad and its must have been a druggie.
The vehicle was parked in Paschim Vihar and all the vehicles in that area had their ORVM's stolen. Next time I am going there I will be taking the driver along.

The name of the shop was Shiv Motors.

ORVM's getting stolen is common here in NCR especially of the cars like the Skoda, Honda city and the Safari. Even mine got stolen 1 year back within a span of 5 minutes of my parking it on the roadside vegetable market. I was lucky that I returned back within 5 minutes else the other side one would have also gone! And like Harjeev said mine too was broken the same way like he mentioned.

I too had to pay about 4K for my 3.0 L Dicor's right hand side one (3K for a piece and 1K for the paint)

@ Harjeev - if you don't mind how much did the Stebel Nautilus Air Horn cost you and from where did you get it from ?

MAN the horn is amazing.
You have to hear it to believe it!!!
After hearing this horn I remembered this saying
"Big things come in small packages"

I have installed the horn with a separate push button which cost me 25 bucks and is feel great too
Additionally as no wires were cut, the warranty is also intact.

Hey Harjeev! Long time! How are you?

BTW about the horn, where from and for how much?

Also, was planning to install the Reverse cam in my Xylo as its a pain to reverse even with the RPS. The Silicon one is available for 6K, is it okay. Which one is yours and for how much?

My bro's safari's ORVMs were also stolen from Pitampura once.

But then after few months his neighboring shop owner caught a guy stealing them by breaking them apart.

Crowd beat the hell out of the guy and they found around 13-14 ORVM,mostly honda civic and lancer ones and out of those 2 my bro picked up 2 ORVMs for Safari.

Hey vinay
My reverse cam is some local make and the screen is RD. The screen the the more expensive part in the whole thing. Also get the installation done from a reputed shop. There is a whole thread on the reverse cam & sensors somewhere on this this
I paid about 8k and that too 1 year back. Now the prices are considerably less. So 6k sounds good.

@sunny
Now that my safari mirrors were stolen I started to notice alot of cars on the roads with missing ORVM's. I guess unless it has to do something with ourselves, we dont tend to notice.
Good to hear that you found yours mirrors back

Its the one where the reverse camera is fitted on the rear bumper.

If you notice the old TCIC's with this cover removed, you will find a bar with threaded holes for fitting the tow hook. But its no longer present in the safari and they use it for the camera

It usually gets stolen easily as its a clamp on.

Thanks.

I had forgotton all about the reason for this cover when 1st introduced on TCIC model (the 1st safari). This safari also had 2 AC compressors one for the driver and the next row of seat (the middle one) and another compressor for the last row (jump seats), It also had twin head lights, the tilt of the steering was also more pronounced...Sigh...
