The on road price was 4.80, the dealer gave me a cash discount of 30k. So in 4.50, i got a brilliant deal! Saves money for the stereo, seat covers n stuff

It was B.U. Bhandari, in Abhimanshree society. The car was 4.80 on road, but I got 30k straight off, so 4.5 OTR, Pune. Quite a good deal. They are giving nice discounts on the Palio range, so dont miss out on that.

The Palio's a very solidly built and well engineered car, so u wont go wrong with it. If u r not on a power trip, u should be fine with the 1.1 engine.

Wrong, it came in 6 years ago---in Oct, 2001. I bought my WagonR in July, 2001. I'd surely have bought a Palio if it were launched by then

So, you were kid around 15 year back, where was the PALIO then ? ( I guess you are talking about UNO or NE).

MORE??!! Dude, we have to do the stereo taking into consideration the fact that I'm poorer than a stray cat now that i've bought this car.

Congrats on the new acquisition!

Did you have to wait for the delivery or was it readily available? I went to B U Bhandari a couple of times but they did not have the 1.6 available for test drive and the salesperson kept steering me towards the 1.1 - left me thinking whether they wanted to sell the 1.6 at all. And is the 30k discount available without haggling? (my bargaining skills are rather poor )

Enjoy the new ride and drive safely,
Amit.

My 'UNI'que Palio Sport

My Palio sport completed 1000 kms (what a fun 1000 kms those were) and had its first servicing done.

My buddy Rahul, who's also on the forum got me a birthday present.... a UNI filter for the car!
So one fine weekend, we did the filter transplant at another friend's place. (refer below for the pics) Also remapped the ECU to adjust to the new breathing mechanism. These dudes really did a fantastic install.

And now, ladies and gentlemen.... the monster has awaken!! There is absolutely no throttle lag... acceleration is very linear. Also, it is moving much faster than before.

And the induction roar.... Post 3000 rpm, the sound is just brilliant! Wish I could post an audio clip here.

I never thought that an air filter could make such a big difference. It is actually feeling like it's shed half a ton!

Stay posted for a long drive.....

The story in Pics:

Thats my car when brand new

Before install

It is alive!!

The men who did all the hard work. (Sorry, dont have a clearer pic)

Congratulations Amit. Good DIY job there. By remap I guess you meant you flashed the ECU to a factory reset of all self adapting parameters.
