Errrr......Running in? I suggest you head straight to the art of running in a new engine. If you go over 2500 rpms, a seriously heavy infraction is on the way .
My first choice of number was single digit 5, but didnt have to the heart to pay that much for a number!(The guy asked for near a lakh!) So my 2nd best option was 525.

I havent broken the rules just yet 180km/hr comes up at around 2500rpm!

Hey, congratulations Sahil! Great car, nice colour, great number!

Just my 2 cents...I'd keep her at around 2 - 2,500 rpm till she's run around 1,500 Kms. 3,500 rpm is over 75% max. engine speed, which I'd avoid with a brand new engine!

Still...all the best, I hope you have many years of happy, safe, trouble-free motoring with her!

I have 0 temptation to plonk a PSi tuning box in there, it has mooore than sufficent power...the warranty ends in 2 years if i dont opt in for the extended one(which i might) will have to see how greedy i get then decide
Maverick had mentioned a 530d fitted with a tuning box had developed a lot of problems, so unless Pete's box is tried and tested on the 525d i would stay away.

I dont know why everyone is accusing me of not running her in well, all the speeds i have mentioend come up at or below 2500rpm ...so i am being very easy on her (which i never am, probably the first car of mine that i am running in)

@akshay1234- Yes it is the new auto lever.. No jerks what so ever, almost feels like a DSG to me.

Sahil man, drive her how you want. You work hard for your money.. youve waited to get her and now what are you gonna sit and wait till you plant your right foot? I dont know about you guys but I can never wait for the run-in period. I try..but it wont last more than a week or two. Great choice of car by the way, Im getting the same in blue, think by Dec 1st week . I cant wait.

Nice number choice much much better than just a 5. there is a 325d in bangy with the same combo 325. It actually gives a chill to see the number match the model.

180kmph at 2500rpm :( awesome. !!! what is she limited at ? 260kmph or something there abouts?

Why? This has enough and more power and Torque on tap. Why mess with one of the best engines of the world?
