First, congrats on your new car. Post some pics and the FE etc etc. Hope with your above comment, you are not going to be targeted here by other members.

Dont be to worried. Some dealerships disconnect odo while transporting and registration. So, low mileage can't always be trusted.

Thats one of the best names i have heard of the Swift. hehe. It has a fat butt alright!

Excellent report; congratulations on the hot hatch! How about some pictures of the alloys? The link you gave doesnt go to any particular design.

I wanted the whole shebang, the top of the line Alpine HU, JBL components, Amplifiers, Subs, a LCD screen with a DVD player and a PS2 for when I am not driving,.
On the performance side, I was looking for the Green cotton air filter, Pete's and FFE.
Only three things stood in my way:
1. Wife
2. Maruti's warranty policy
3. An already sad bank balance
LOL!

WHAT?
I didn't understand.

I said Swift DDiS, as in Swift diesel (Written above the side indicators... see?). VDi is the version.

Yep, VDi is the version. DDIS istands for "Direct Diesel Injection System" , I believe.

Anyway, got my first mielage report today. I had filled up in Mysore and the results for a ~300 km run with 50% highway driving and approximately 50% A/C is

wait for it

18.96 kmpl

One issue though, the tyre prssures which I had checked in Mysore dropped quite a bit in only 4 days. I set pressures of 30 but one tyre had only 26psi when checked again. Could this be a problem or could it be the tyres were just not warm enough?

I am now using tyre pressures of 32psi all around. Lets see what happens.

Pitbull: if you dont mind a slightly choppy ride stick to 34 for front and 32 for rear for the sake of handling and FE

It also says "DDIS" on the engine cover itself.

Tez,
Yep, I upsized the tyres to 195/60-R15s from 165/80-R14s.
The grip is amazing; I now overtake from the outside
