This noise comes when the rpm goes more than 1500 and till the speed is in increasing trend. When, the speed is constant, the noise is not there.
Its not noise.
Its technically called music. Music from a device called a Turbocharger.

If you are getting black smoke, it may mean that engine is running rich.
There is a possibility that there is micro leakage in turbo plumbing, so the engine is not getting all the air it needs, and hissing sound is also more than necessary.

If thats not the case it could be a simple case of ECU setting the mixture too rich.
Try normal diesel for a change without any system D etc.,

Please go ahead with the service and as Tanveer mentioned use Normal Diesel at least for 2 -3 tankfuls and i'm sure the smoke problem should be gone.

you will feel slight loss of smoothness due to you using Premium diesel earlier

but this smoothness can be take care by using System D.

and i'm 100% sure that Premium diesel leads to lots of smoke in Safari so switch to normal diesel from a trusted bunk.(IOC normal diesel is good)

Sirjee, I beg to differ.

On the presumption that we are speaking about 2.2 VTT Premium Diesel may give other problems but not smoke.

I have been filling in Xtra Mile from IOCL (last 2 tank fulls) and I have not noticed black smoke yet.

my suggestions were based on practical experiences after using premium diesel for a long time and then switching to normal diesel.

Please go beyond 2000 RPMs and see how much smoke is there.

try sudden acceleration too

I have been using premium fuels all through my 6-1/2 months and no black smoke. Now using IOC premium wholly for the last 3 fills and fully satisfied. Heard that premium may choke the catalsyt on the long run but then the smoothness and acceleration has to be there.

Only once I filled up normal diesel, the engine noise was more .

Yes do insist on getting it totally cleared up at TASS and do sign up only when you are satisfied. The 15K service is a big one, hope you have gone through the manual regarding what needs to be done - just to be updated on your side.

yes,i got the problem.Today while driving back home,I tried accelerating more and suddenly........There was no power completely and the service light was on.

I stopped the BULL for some time and was thinking and Yes,It should be a turbo leakage as suggested by tsk1979.I was rewinding my thoughts and experience with my tata sierra turbo where i once had the same kind of problem. And confirmed it myself its a turbo leakage.

Then I started my BULL again and now the service light is gone.

Good,So i called TASS(prerana) and discussed with them and they also confirmed the same. So,booked for service 15000 km tomorrow and also to attend this problem.

Maybe a small issue, like a burst rubber pipe.

And you driver drives it too? Any difference in FE when he drives?

I spoke to the prerana guy(servise advisor) to check what the problem is.He said the turbo Hose has failed. So,when we accelerate ,the hose get disconnected resulting in loss of power/noise/black smoke. So,they were trying to fix a new one and that too is not fitting properly and is getting disconnected. He said they are trying it out and they will let me know once my BULL is ready.

He says its a special case and they have never come across a problem like this.

HI JKdas,
My driver drives it rarely otherwise he is at home driving santro for my wife and kid.He knows how i like my Bull and the FE is better when he drives.

15000km service done

Yes,The Turbo problem is fixed and the 15000km service is done.My BUll has got its power back.

I took the delivery on 9th friday after the problem was fixed and the 15000km service done.

I spoke to the advisor to find out what the problem with the turbo. He then opened the front bonnet and showed a red hose inside. He said the hose was slipping.Thats when we accelerate,The hose slips and it leaks and resulting in the turboloss, loss of power and black smoke. The problem is the manufacturing defect in the hose. Now,they had fixed a new hose and the problem is solved.

the failure part no.254714605815- rubber hose(I.C to mainfold).-picture attached.

For the 15000km service:
changed - assy.fuel filter Delphi
diesel engine oil ch4 - 15w40 castrol GTX - 6.5 lts
differential oil ep - 85w140castrol - 2.2 lts
assy oil filter(fleet gaurd)

All other regular checkups done.
