Set of 5 XM1 185/65 r14 tyres 17000

Buy back of stock tyres - GoodYear 165/80 r13 with rim 8500.

So I paid 25700. Happened to know the alloy distributor for Southern region . So that includes friendship discount and free wheel balancing.

Cheers,

Rajan
Thanks for the information.
Wish you all the best with your new car.

10 days 500 Km Ownership update

Guys,

Been driving around for 1 week in my new palio stile SLX 1.1. Here is a first impression report:

Costs:

OTR - Bangalore - 4,31,500.

Discounts: Cash 22,000

Accessories - Floor mats, sun film, mud flaps and body cover.

Modifications:

AURA E01455 Alloys - Rs. 17200 for a set of 5
Michilen Energy XM1 - 185/65 r14 Rs. 8500 Exchange price for a set of 5
Vendor - Sai Iyengar Tyres, Lalbagh Road, Bangalore

Planned Modifications:

Security Alarm. A friend of mine has offered to fit RD security system with 2 way communication. Anyone tried it? The offer price is ~4.5 K. What do you say, guys?

Leather/Art leather seats - Later date...budget defecit.

ICE:

Alpine 9870E - Rs. 7700
JBL GT5 500C Components for the front - Rs. 4000
JBL GT5 963 for rear Rs. 3300
MDF Board - Rs 900

Vendor - AUTO SHOP, Banashankari.

Everything with B&W

First Impressions.

Smooth gear shift, very less noise in cabin. Sufficient power for city driving. Haven't taken her out on the open roads yet. Excellent handling, thanks to the tyres. The ride feels a bit bumpy. Have to check the tyre pressure. Planning on 28 psi all around.

Milage:

Car was delivered to me with a ODO reading of 39 kms. The dealer gave the car with a decent amount of petrol. Topped up when the ODO read 58. She took 33.18 lts. Topped up again at 250 kms. This time she took 20.33 lts. That is 12.3 kms city driving with 50% A/C. Will have to redo the math when I fill again.

Negatives:

Pickup feels a bit sluggish with 2 adults and 2 teenagers with A/C on. I guess you can get only so much from a 1.1 L engine. IIRC, another BHPian had posted that the car can pull on 3rd from 15 KMPH. Well, mine doesn't.

Pictures:

Planning on hitting the 1000 km mark this weekend. Then first service and then a trip to Trichy.

Cheers,

Rajan

Rajan, your Black Beauty looks awesome, alloys add to the beauty as well!

Hope you are not moving your Car from stand-still with AC on, it puts lot of strain on the engine. Switch it on when you are 30+kmph.

yes pick up with A/c is pathetic i feel too , i got myself a 1.1 recently.
keeping that aside the car is worth every penny.

you can feel the car drained out of power on highways, one thing is that i am trying to not strain the engine and hence shifting up faster but still like someone had earlier said that the car can be used on 3rd for city driving; i feel does not apply for my car (atleast with the A/C on).

got my car on road for 3.7 which i feel is quite decent for a car that big, i mean a alto almost comes for that price.

suspension i felt was much much better, and performance too is decent i feel (upgraded from a m 800 hence i suppose).

anyway sorry for dirtying your thread with my experience

Hi Patch Boy,
I am a bit worried about the pick up. My cousin says it is very much underpowered. I have already booked the car but now rethinking on that. What should i do.

Dont worry if the usage is mainly city. You will be able to manage with down shifting.

If your usage is high and you enjoy driving, you can consider the 1.3 Multijet aswell.

Out of topic...but Iv'e a question how much would Michilen Energy XM1 - 185/65 r14 cost for without exchange.

I've palio 1.2 NV ELPS and want to upgrade to good tyres. currently it has stock Goodyear tyres but kind of worn out has done 42000km so far.

XM1+ costs around Rs.3360/- in Bangalore, will be bit cheaper in Delhi.

We are going OT, both Energy XM1+ and Energy XM1 have the sillica compound, XM1+ is the improved version with 25% more mileage (longevity) than XM1.

I cannot believe Fiat is still selling the same old interior that my 1999 Sienna had. That's 10 years of cost cutting passed on to the poor Indian consumer. What's the point in selling a car that is so old on the inside but new under the hood?

Anyway man, congrats!
