hey hydra, for 8 lacs, you could get a diesel swift and mod it to within an inch of its life. and it would still fit in your driveway. and it would still run circles around most other cars in that price range.

First let's get this over... Once it is Petefied, it will be insane dude!

Nice review Zak, but I can't get over the Swiftish look, never liked the Swift look, and this reminds me of Swift way too much. At 2L+ over Swift, it simply makes no sense. Remember what happened to Fusion when they came out in the same price range. An excellent crossover went to dogs because of bad pricing. It is nice to see luxury features in a hatch, but they should have done what Maruti did with SX4, shake the market by providing luxury features at normal price.

Frankly speaking, I'm actually tempted. This would probably be the only 7-8L car that could manage to get into (fit into) my garage/driveway.
Yes, but the car doesn't seem to be very ICE friendly with the mid-bass driver placement in the front and rear doors.

I will wait for three months or so. Any new car howsoever good always has a few gremlins when released in the market place. Let these be ironed out.

Also, I will love to put an ECU remap (Petes!) into the Fabia, will take are of the main bug - inadequate power.

Yep, that's true 8L would cover the engine-vengine, leather interiors, and I could damp every square inch of the sheet metal and the interior plastics too!

I did notice that. The placement is pretty crazy, typical Skoda, just like in the Laura.

And well, overall, since it has been quite a while since my bank account has seen some green, all I can do is fantasize. :(

You haven't had your morning coffee.
Having the midbass speakers in the doors is one of the best when ICEing up.
But the rear door speaker positioning is a bit odd. The speakers fire into your buttocks. Sheeesh!

For the front the mid-bass is ok but the tweeters are too far away in teh A-pillar na.

Yup the rear goes right to your behind and fires into the seat.

Isn't it that way in the front doors too?

EDIT: Just checked the pics again. That was the pic of the rear door, huh? I thought it was that way in the front. Don't tell me you didn't take pics of the front door? Wait'll I see you in person *reaching for baseball bat*

Excellent Review Speedzak!

I liked the way you wrote and added the pics!

The 69 bhp does sound a little less for the diesal. ANything between 75-85 bhp wud have insured its success...a la 1.9 TDI way.

ANy idea on the petrol specs?

Hydra, here check this out.

Skoda Fabia Interiors 360

edit: holy moly, it looks like a 3 way setup is possible in the front. I take back my words, this car is not so ICE unfriendly.

1.4l, 84bhp I think.

Get Pete's and make it 85bhp for diesel or ECU remap to 100bhp for petrol

What coffee did you have just now? VM!

The front tweeter position is also good. I hope there's enough place in to fit better ones in correct positioning. It'll have a good soundstage with the music pouring in from the windscreen.

Petes for diesel makes it 90bhp and 190NM, and remap makes the power go to 95bhp.

However torque goes from 155NM to 190NM, a stock Swift has 190NM torque.

@Hydra - The boot is quite spacious to take 2 subs, 1 amp, 1 mono and 1 cap with ease and still there will be room for your kids luggage.
