My New Accent : Hazel!

Hi All,

After going thru numerous threads on Team-BHP that Ford IKON is not the car that causes much trouble now, the FORD service has improved and then deciding that IKON is the one I can go ahead with at the tempting price it was being offered for ..
When I went to the Ford showroom to book one ..
I instead took a few steps more and instead entered the Hyundai showroom .. with that spanking WHITE ANGEL standing in front of me…
Then taking into account the difference in the service offered (b/w FORD and HYUNDAI), the bhp difference and thus the Power to weight ratio ..
I finally decided to go ahead and book a BRIGHT SILVER ACCENT GLE.

This was around a month back ..

But yesterday , I got the delivery of the Hyundai Accent GLE (Bright Silver) model from Hans Hyundai, Delhi.
Though I was promised that the car would be delivered by the 10th of Jan…but still it got extended by about a week ...
The departments dealing with sale, finance were pretty prompt in their service but the dealer was not ready to budge from his stand to give me any freebies apart from the floor mats, mud flaps.

Took the delivery but there were no customary bouquets, chocos etc being offered or may be a pic being taken (my cousin had a pics clicked and handed over to him by the Mahindra when he purchased his Logan ).

I know that its too trivial an issue… but I was told that there are too many cars being delivered today so we wont be able to hand over a bouquet etc.

Anyways …Luckily had taken my digicam along with me…
After a few pics with the baby ..
Started off with the usual lemon crushing ceremony and took it straight to one of the temples for the pooja ..

Took the PDI printout specified in one of the threads (THANKS TEAM-BHP),
But the dealer said we don’t offer warranty cards for battery or tires ..

Next task at hand is getting the baby ICE’d (for which I have thread opened under the ICE section on Team-BHP), and also to go ahead with the central locking (confused between AUTO COP and Xenos , immobiliser or not, gear lock or not ) and the seat covers (leather type.. but for that Delhi heat, towel or velvet )

Hoping to keep my baby squeaky clean for years to come ..

And am hoping that my baby

Hyundai Accent G L E

will not make an entry into one of the threads on Team–BHP which is related to : “ UR first dent at … kms? anytime soon !!!

Congratulations on your purchase of your new Accent GLE,read HAZEL . Choosing the Accent over the Ikon was a nice choice. Accent is 1.6 while the Ikon is only 1.3! After sales service,Hyundai is better, they listen to the customer's problems better than Ford.

Great choice! Do give her a set of great alloys with better tyres if your budget permits you. for ICE,the ICE thread is there.

Hazel nice name. Definitely a better choice than 1.3. You get better performance and the hyundai services are getting better day by day. The Spares wont cost you as much as they would cost you for Ford.
Congrats. Post some pics too!

Congrats, hbaruas. That's a pretty comfy car you have there. A friend of mine too went through a similar planning process and bought the GLE. Hasn't thought of as fancy a name yet though.

By the way, I too think the current model is 1.5 L and not 1.6. Still its bigger than the Ford 1.3.

Congrats on your new car, hbaruas. The Accent is a good entry-level sedan. Maybe you should put up the pics you clicked of your new car here.

Between, the Accent GLE is a 1.5, and not a 1.6.

Congrats on your new Accent, I too had a silver one, a 2000 GLS model, but sold it last june to upgrade to a Skoda Octy 1.9TDI, still miss the Accent a lot. Sometimes wished I still retained the car.

Happy & Safe driving.
