Good thing that in the 3rd gear I drove from under 10KMPH (that's what the needle showed) to over 70.

1. Pathetic acceleration.
If all you wanted to do was to check flat-out acceleration, the last thing you would do is to slot the car in 3rd gear while doing 10kmph! That would be more for in-gear acceleration and driveability.

I no way Palio acceleration is Pathetic!!!!!!!!!!

I will agree it wont feel as fast as swift but there is not at all pathetic.

Dull power steering
NO WAY again! Better power steering that swift specially at high speeds.

I was not finding the right comparision to explain when I said that the p1.3 seats could have been better.
I guess, I can only explain that I find WagonR seats more comfortable than p1.3 and I would have prefered similar seats.

It does have a 12v ciggy lighter socket - what else do you need for mobile charging? Laptop could (i havent tried) use the same - I have no experience in this though.

Cup holders are on the lid of glove compartment and Fiat's manual says, cup holders should be used only when car is stationary or you may get hurt on sharp cornering or braking.

12v power socket is standard and can be used for any apparatus that needs power upto 180 watts. I have got a 5-in-1 mobile charger for 200 bucks and 5 years warranty that has a USB connector too to charge any device (camera, GPS, Motorola phone) that has standard USB socket.

Hey Subscrive. I think Chetan only meant that its the worst review about the FIAT engine. I dont think it was about 'your' review.

No comment about it brakes?

Was thinking why they went 13incher...Is it coz Fiat is less torquey on paper and to compensate it they used smaller diameter tyres?

Well , when I Testdrove the vehicle , i just didnt compare it with other cars , i just saw the car itself alone and i liked it. If i start comparing each and every facts then i will never buy a car .

Well I have tested the Palio Multijet and the power is awesome. This is a car that you would love to drive. I tried pulling the car for 30 kms in 5th gear with Ac on and it did a clean pull surprising me. I have become a fan of this engine. This one really rocks. I will now check out the Swift D and then probably write which car I liked much better.

I felt the power steering to be lacking and the car to be quite a dull one.
I attribute my feelings to
1. Pathetic acceleration.
2. Large NVH.
3. Dull power steering.
4. I somehow felt not-free kinda in the car.

by the looks of it mr scbscrive here doesnt know much about cars if you guys can see he has mentioned about the power streeing twice i think hes posting for the sake of it and not what he thinks about the car ...i know people who are five feet tall who drive palios and they have never complained , its not how short or tall you are its your judgment that matters when you are driving any car.... just because fiat cars dont have good A.S.S doesnt mean its a bad car its one of the best hatches in the country....if you dont like these cars be it but none of the fiat owners will agree to your four feeling that you've mentioned .

Re: Mjd

Hmmm, the reviewer seems to have preconceived notions about the car and didnt give it a chance.
for instance: driving position - you sure you sat on the driving seat and not somewhere else?
bad accelo - makes me wonder if you started the car in gear 4
uncomfortable back seats - have you sat in the back seat of the swift?
and you found tata better? not bad at all.
you should be a design consultant with an auto company
