Congrats Ishan and auntyji.
Nice choice of car, color etc...
The tires will be soon blunted. Nay? You'll never get to drive it or what?

Congrats Ishan, hope the car provides your family many many happy miles.
Few questions:
1. How's Engine refinement in comparison to xing and what's the best power band?
2. How do you feel about this CRV'ish Gearbox, is it easier to use and feasible in comparison to the previous car?
the interiors are definately top notch! kudos to hyundai.
what all accessories and have you planned for this car?
once again congrats.

Give her a test drive of an auto for a day and watch her priorities change.
Thank you gogi bhai! But I don't want to spoil her habits with an AT just yet!! Maybe for the next car!

Should be something interesting! I think you have a clue, let's see how quickly it can materialize!

Thank you HR! And GTO's quote is correct, our wonderful experience with Hyundai was a major factor in finalising this car!

Boys, ever tried explaining to your mother why spending money on something that puts out unwanted noise (her opinion!) is good choice?? I guess not! So for the sake of living happily for a life time without being nagged daily for wasteful expenditure on her car I refrained too!

Did you check out Chevy Spark?
Thank Finney! No we did not check the Spark primarily because before the Santro my mother owned two Matiz's on the trot! And neither of us wanted a clone of the Matiz back again!

I really like the colour. And the interiors are really nice. I'm not a fan of beige (in general), though.
I'm not a fan of beige too Ashok! But have to say it looks pretty good in the i10. Coupled to the improved interiors & build quality, it turned out to be the winning package for us!

Thanks to Suman, Klever, Stablerock, Gangsta, Unknown for the kind wishes!!

Thanks Zak! And yes, apart from the first day while bringing her from Delhi to Moradabad, I haven't driven her much! And don't really wish to either!

Thanks Ashish, have answered you questions below:

1. Refinement in cabin is excellent but somehow engine noise outside the cabin seems to be louder. Best power band is around the 1.5k-4.5k rpm mark. Anything below it's not too torquey & anything above she looses steam.

2. Gear lever falls immediately to hand & after a couple of shifts feels absolutely natural. But, the gearshift action is not as slick as the Santro. It is super easy to use though.

3. Only accessories planned have been Foot mats (already fitted) & seat covers. Sun films maybe if my mother agrees. Apart from that she's going to be absolutely stock.

Thanks for the wishes Mugen!

A little late, but nevertheless congrats to your mom on the new car. The i10 is a sensible choice, and i agree with GTO's comment.

The only thing i didnt like about the i10 is the front of the car, and those headlamps in particular. They resemble lizard eyes to me.

thanks for the answers ishan. Yes i agree that the gearbox of santro is really slick but i guess you and auntyji will get use to it soon and maybe it will improve once it covers more miles.
even i'm contemplating the idea of buying i10 for my grandpa from his current alto, lets see how it figures out.
i can understand what you must be going through while arguing your mom for music system. Even my grandpa hates music and for him also music is 'useless sound' :(
i have tried reasoning with him several times but all in vain. The end result is that his 4 year alto is still without any stereo and thats why i never ever take it out for a ride.

Congrats to your Mom and to you Ishaan!
Since you ain't going to drive the i10 much, might I suggest, you make a 'miniature brass Ishaan' complete with specs and all as a hood ornament?

OT:call me when you are in noida next buddy
