Just booked my new civic

Just back from the dealer (Capitol Honda) after booking my new civic
Night Hawk Black color. After a lot of haggling all I could get so far has been just 20K. But I am trying hard to pull as many strings as possible to get the max out of these guys.
Decided to get a 1.8 S MT cause I get the fog lights for 15k, ORVMS with indicator - Not a major fan. Leather seats can be had outside for much cheaper price.
Bank loan managed to get at 10% for 5 years.
Let me know what you guys think of this deal? I am trying to get my first year insurance waived off.
Also do any of you guys have experience with Koyas coimbatore ? How does that compare with leather seats you get in Chennai?

Congratulations Vijay! 10% is a good rate ( going rate ) these days. See if you can get insurance fee waiver - it will be a good deal. If you are working with any MNC- you may get something like a corporate discount as well as till last month it was in the range of 30K in Mumbai.
if you get insurance off with additional 20 K , it would perhaps be the best deal. Just make doubly sure that you get a 2008 mfd. model.

- Im getting it done through HDFC. Had to pull a lot of strings though. The going rate in Chennai is around 10.7% for 5 years. Try Reliance , they offer 9% for 3 years. But this would again depend on the loan amount.

Congrats Vijay.
To ensure you get the best price you must haggle with quotes to different dealerships in your city or neighboring ones.
Is the S version available in A/T or still just the V?

The problem is that Honda dealer dont care when you threaten to take your business elsewhere. Chennai has two dealers - Sundaram and Capitol. Both have identical discounts. Further, outside Chennai , if you take Bangalore, the cars are more expensive there. And these salesmen are so cocky that when you threaten to go to Toyota, they are like .."gladly Sir. They make good cars too, but their Corolla doesnt compare with this Civic. If you want to buy an inferior car , the choice is yours" - This is what one guy told me in Honda.
S is available only in M/T. I am totally against A/T.

If you are buying a premium car, not much to be had through dealership discounts. The haggling fun is only with the banks.
