I had test driven the Logan six months ago, but the interior now looks good now.

Do post about the milage and you ownership experience.

Lovely speaker pods in the front doors.
Btw, praveen_v just picked up his new fiesta 1.6 and its registration number is 1 more than yours, 1279.
But, yours was registered at the Adyar RTO,wasn't it?

1000 Kms Update:

Crossed 1040 Kms today.

EVery thing is fine.

1. Steering & wheel straight line alignment is wonderful. Leave the streering wheel free. It goes in a straight line! No pulling you to one side of the road.

2. City driving 6 x 4 kms (Home to office -Back for lunch - Back to office and Back Home) per day Max speed 60 Kms Avrage 30 KMPH to reah office. Gives me a milage of 17 kmpl. based on 375 kms in 22 litres of diesel.

3. Almost Got used to left right swap of a few controls.

4. No complaints what so ever except... a small feable mettalic noise from engine which is audible only if I open the bonnett. Will get it chcked up during I service.

Going for a highway ride of about 700 Kms + tomorrow. Will update the forum about Highway milage in two days.

Good to see you are happy with your Logan Seran. The mid range DLX seems to be a hot seller. How you find the power window switches on the centre console? Is it difficult and inconvinient to reach?

Thanks Happy Wheels and Dine. Yes I did buckle-up. Had a safe trip.

Dippy - I am used to the power window switches - No problem. Need some more time to get used to the wiper - Side Indicator swap. During normal run I do it right. But when I slightly over shoot, the turn and then realize and try to turn with a bit of urgency I make a mess of things by putting on the wiper instead of trafficker.

Had a long trip of about 600+ Kms and had a reasonable millage of 23 KMPL. Filled up at Chennai. Went through Pondy to thirukkadaiyur. Came back to Pondy and filled there. 442 Kms - 19.4 L - Normal diesel (No High Octane one) Comes to 23 KMPL. Never crossed 85 KMPH anywhere.

thanks for the info regarding the seats. i want to get them fitted too but have not been able to get time for it. the seat colour matches the interior & blends with the car colour well. good choice.

Re: Our New LOGAN DLX 1.5 - First Impression - Crossed 60000 Kms

It is more than 5 Years and 3 months now. Logan has performed very well. I did take care of all the preventive maintenance jobs in time. No problems with engine or transmission till date.

The only thing attanded to was AC leak that happened 18 months back and that costed me 7000. 5000 KM Service was done locally by a a very good mechanic known to me.

Sent it to India Garage for 60,000 Service as it needed Timing belt replacement.

The following jobs were done

1. Timing belt and associated mechanicals changed.
2. Accessories belt and associated mechanicals changed.
3. Gear knob replaced.

Costed me 12,600.

Nice vehicle. I like its performance.

So what is going to replace the Logan? That is one solid chassis mated to a durable power train. The turbo whistle is addictive.

By the way, though manual specifies 60k as timing belt change interval, many logan owners in my family are postponing it to 1L km; a huge gamble though.

Yes. I had no issues with the engine. I changed the Timing belt at 60K service. Honda city diesel is the new one that is replacing Logan.

73,000 kms is nothing for this car! Logan diesel is one car that has impressed me no matter what others say! Nice chasis, proper low end power delivery with almost nil lag, interior space and solid feel.

Anyways, congrats on the new City diesel.
