Our New LOGAN DLX 1.5 - First Impression

I have taken delivery of Sahara Beige Logan DLX yesterday. I plan to keep theforum updated about the performance at 2K, 10K Kms.

1. The engine is very silent (As against my India DLE)

2. Gear Shift is Good and gives the right feel.

3. Steering Looks a bit more stiff than Indica. But the vehicle goes in a traight line if left on its own (So well balanced).

4. Rear seat is good for 4 average guys and three well built ones.

5. Suspension is good (I hope Wheel dia has more contribution to that).

6. Milage yet to be checked and I shall keep the forum posted.

7. Getting used to the re arranged wipper and Light controls.

8. AC performs very well at this Chennai summer. The cabin gets cooled with in minutes even after getting the vehilce moving from a open parking area.

Thanks for all your good wishes. I will sure upload some pics soon (Will even try posting a pic of 4 being seated in the rear).

Some minor points about logan I noted later, which I had not seen in the forum.

1. Immobilizer in all variants, a real good add-on. It has a key with an embedded microchip, that communicates with the immobilizer in the car. If any one tries to use a ditto duplicate key, the immobilzer wont allow the car to move. The hitch is - you have to keep the originals safe. Only two are offered by Mahindra.

2. Delayed switchinhing off of cabin light. Once you close the door, the microprocessor controlled cabin lamp keeps on for about 20 secs more and then goes off. The same with Dickey lamp (Though one does not need it! May be thaye have smplified the electrical wiring by adding it to Dickey lamp)

3. Head Lights leveller right on the dash borad- that helps to adjust the headlamp reah on the fly. Hope many cars have it now.

I got 14 K cash discount and some minor free bees. 1. Mud Flaps 2. Fllor Mat set. 3. Garware Sun Film.

Means that you can't get a duplicate made by any one else. You will need to order one from M&M-Renault, by giving them your VIN number.

Condor,
