Great! I drove my father's 1800ISZ for 2 years and man, what a lovely engine it had! First thing I did was to replace the stock crossplies with fat radials and that really improved the handling and braking department.

Surprised many a 'modern' car with it's pickup and effortless cruising ability. Mileage was a pain though :-(

Hi All,

Just had a question, my car shuts off sometimes, while driving, I had a carb zen and this would happen if the tuning was low, however in the Amby which is MPFI, I don't know what the problem is, there is no other problem otherwise, the car restarts fine, but the problem is when I driving in busy intersections, or at signals, this happens, it usaually happens when I come to a halt at a signal. If any one can throw some light on this it would be helpful.

Another question is do, MPFI cars also require tuning?
What is the procedure to clean the flue injectors, I have only heard of them, never seen them as I had a carb car earlier.
If anyone has had an Amby before, what is the normal temp gauge setting, as my car get's a little above the half way mark, may earlier zen never went above the half way mark and was always below half.
Is it normal the AC compressor keeps coming on and off, as my zen was adjested to never switch off.

If the engine stopping problem goes away, that would be fantastic, as that is the only problem I seem to be having.

Thanks Dippy and Technocrat.

The digital odo in the Amy is quite nice, it's got 2 trips, that way you can check 2 different distances apart from the odometer reading.

The speedomoter is also in the center of the dashboard bay, it's feels strange, but looks too good at night.

Your car has minor dents on rear mudguard panel line. Repair it as soon as possible. Metal is exposed there and rust will start soon. Especially for Kolkata monsoon where Amby collects lot of mud all around.

Generally, MPFi cars require the following maintenance:

1. Oil changes (duh!?)
2. Filters
3. Idle settings (I think this is the cause of your car shutting down)
4. Cleaning Fuel injectors (best done at authorised service)
5. Check PCV valve, throttle body & ignition timing.
6. Check valve clearance

Check this thread out for more details.

BTW, nice looking Amby!
