But why didn't you get the diesel filter changed ? Did the dealer talk you out of it saying that its not required and it is still clean ?

I suggest you go back and get it changed asap. With the quality of diesel we get here in Delhi, I will advice you not to skip the change.

Injector cleaning is something like decarbonizing. I am not sure how they do it.
Eagerly awaiting the angel eyes update

Yep, the service manual also recommends the same. Sumit I also suggest you get it changed.

Diesel filter should cost you about 900 bucks and is a single unit. Ask him to change only the filter element.

Hi revved_up,

Saw your earlier post about Fucot underbody coating, needed your input.

I just bought a scorpio and the dealier is offering free Fucot under body treatment the product name he says is MaxiCare.

I suppose its been three years now on your vehicle, so wanted get your feedback. Especially as I have not heard about Fucot earlier and not much details available on the web or this forum.

Also the dealier is claiming it costs 4300/- where as the well know brand 3M is only charging 3700/-

Well, to be frank, I dont know how good was this coating. I think it was OK, i dont see any rust in the under body.

re: Yes!!! Its here.. Swift VDi White!!! Update - Now sold

I have been very lazy to update this thread.

After 4 Years and 5 days and about 80k on the odo, i have sold off this car!
There were alot of emotions attached since this was my first car.

As time passed, I was sorely missing the boot and had to upgrade to a Sedan now.

Got a good deal and closed it today.

The car was still running on the original Michelin Tyres which i changed to on the 2nd day of purchase.
The engine condition was still as good as new and it had never let me down and this car had seen some of the worst roads in the country.

May the care find good home!

ciao!

Hey Eddy, how have you been?

The car went for 3.5, i was getting 3.10 to 3.25 from true value and other similar places.

The car had met an accident last year because of which the bonet had been replaced and other parts of the body were also painted in patches..since i dont like driving with scratches .

All people quoting for the car were cribbing about almost the whole car being painted.
