Having done 270km on the ODO, I am enjoying the drive. Amazed with the power of DDIS. The car just cruises upto 30km/hr without clutch/accelerator on 2nd/3rd gear, which is nice for harsh traffic conditions.

I have found the clutch to be tight and my left foot is aching.

Also noticed, that when I keep my hand on the gear lever at 3rd Gear, it vibrates little bit. Don't know if that's normal or not, but will get it checked in first service.

Planning to get a gear lock installed soon.

BTW, any recommedation on a good service center in delhi/ncr?

Also, I could not find what RPM/gear/speeds should one drive in the run-in period upto first 1000km. Anyone has recommendations on this? The manual talks about some max downshift speeds but nothing more than that.

Very nice color...

You can go through the run-in thread for RPM but for diesel you should stick to below 2000 RPM for first 1500 KM and then increase it gradually. I think 2000KM of run-in period is enough and you can open up after that.

Nice colour.

Run in period for 1000 kms is more than enough. Do not go beyond 2500 rpm in the initial period. Most of the niggling issues like clutch and RPM can be adjusted in your first service. BTW, what is the FE you are getting.

Power in 1st gear

Guys, your feedback is needed.

I experienced this issue on the power delivered in 1st gear.

I parked my Dzire DDIS in a basement in our office building. I turned on the engine, without much idling it, started driving up to the ground floor from -1 floor, to get out of the parking lot. I could feel a drag and could not drive more than 15-20kmph in 1st gear. If I turn to 2nd gear, it's still harder as the speed is less. The drive is little steep up, but still I feel it should deliver more power in 1st gear to drive uphill.. Is this normal?

Is it because of cold engine ? or because it's new engine(250km ODO) or something else?

I think it is a much nicer-looking car than the Swift. Doesn't look like a fatty!

First Mileage update

I've 800km on the ODO and the first mileage that has come up is 17kmpl using tankfull to tankfull method at cut-off.

This is with 100% AC at about 25C, a mix of City/Highway(50-50) driving, driving withinh 1800-2200RPM range.

This looks good to me..What do you all say ?

that FE is awesum...
About the power issue in the 1st gear. My friend also owns a DZire. He also reported this as a problem. the maruti workshop said its because of the cold engine.. So he revs the engine a bit for like 1min or so. and then it is quite fine. Though he is still not satisfied with it.
