Tanveer Babu, any updates? I am sure the truck carrying your truck must have reached by now! When are you taking Guruji to show you a trick or two?

Tanveer, it has been quiet a while since we heard from you. Are you on a long trip with the Safari. Waiting for a report on the delivery and the subsequent experiences with the EX 4X4.

Here is a 5000 Km.update
1.Absolutely no problems and issues as of 5000 Km.run
2.Shifted to premium desiel from normal. The Krr sound has almost vanished. The engine has become more smooth than before.
3.The vehicle engine has amazing pulling power and effortlessly cruises at around 120 Km/hr.
4.The vehicle has very nicely settled in and enjoying every bit of my ride.
5.The wind noice is annoying and still no solution found.

@Manohar, this thread was more for a comparison between the Safari & the Scorp mHawk. Pls post your ownership experiences in a different thread - or you could start one dedicated to your thread. We would love to hear your experiences.

Oohhh... a good one!

Yup, with a beauty as this, who can resist the temptation!

Hope he comes back with a good report on buying / initial ownership.

Safari 2.2 VTT : King of the road

I am driving a Safari 2.2 VTT since last 10-11 months now and happy with the engine performance. so far I have not had a chance of many long drives been more in the city. besides 2-3 trips Mumbai-Pune, 1 trip Mumbai-Lonavala and 1 trip Mumbai-Shirdi.

there are some interior issues. which I guess are a part of TATA design and creativity. you got to go along with those.

when I wanted to buy a SUV I never thought of comparing it with Scorpio... my personal opinion : I do not like the shape of scorpio, sitting on the rear seat.. you can easily touch the dashboard.. no space and it feels that you are sitting straight in a classroom or in an auto in Mumbai.

Feeling in Safari is of a King of the road... comfort *****.

Overall a happy owner... so far so good.

20000 Km.Update

Sorry, have been off since a very long time.My vehicle has already clocked 20000 Km.with no major issues.Continue to use premium diesel and the Krr sound has disintegrated.I am very happy with the vehicle.I personally think the time is up that Tata motors has a major upgrade.I would like to see changes in the interiors and especially the dash, improve fit and finish, maybe change claddings, further improve the engine and especially the sound.I will put up few pictures very soon. The seat covers are very interesting.
Regards
Manohar Desai
