OT: Suman, where is your detailed comparison between the Scorpio and Safari? That would let us decide further between the two vehicles!

OT: Sumit, sometime this week & not on this thread my friend.

Will put it together sometime, didn't want to waste the weekend over unproductive tasks when the conclusion is known

Conclusion is known but if we have facts to put forward (albeit biased facts), it helps in convincing the fanboys and eases their pain

Tanveer,

"Excellent comparo and review of mHawk."

I always wonder what makes M&M chalks out reliable & refined scorpio engines.. & Tata always lags behind in the same deptt..(almost)

Is there any understanding between them that ..Hey..you make lavish engine and ill make lavish interiors and space

Hi tsk1979, screaming over, again, from other posts that it's personal tastes and likings which contribute most towards a purchase decision.
All i can add for now is, if you got to take frequent U-turns, then the Scorpio would win in that area. And this, i believe should not be overlooked while buying an SUV.
Good luck on your final purchase decision!

Well written thread, sadly (for safari lovers might not like it) i share the same feeling after driving the old 2.6 vs the safari 3 lit, havent tried the new versions from both manufacturers. But if my eyes are to be believed i say the new scorpio does handle well, and acceleration is awesome (yeah i had tailed one 2 weeks back from hosur till bangalore in the middle of night, and she just ROCKED!).

Even with the older versions i somehow felt more confidence in scorpio (mechanicals and interiors). Its purely my personal perception, and i often remark to my wife that if we are buying another diesel for the highway its gonna be the scorp, jeez i hate the shape though!

Does this thread merit being in the 'Best Threads' section?

Any particular reason why you say this?

Mods can decide! I have no personal preference and no reservations about it being made a sticky.

An honest write up that just made more confusions for you. We were in almost similar situation when we finally bought Baleno. We thought of Scorpio and were ready to stretch budget. Dad rejected it for lack of refinment and somewhat crapmed interiors. NHC, Optra 1.6, Corsa, Innova, Tavera were all one the list and I was inclined on Swift.

Why did you tail it? Once when coming back from Kerala, a Scorpio 2.2 tried to act smart with my swift, he didn't like the fact that a puny hatchback overtook him. Showed him a clean pair of heels..
