The Fusion has such a roomy glass house - the whole car looks so cheerful. At a time when every car mashes you in with their swooping flattened ceilings, you can easily make out that the occupants sit free and relaxed in a Fusion. But yet not like the Santro/WangonR tallboys which give you headroom - more like head and a room above that - at the cost of looking like an autorickshaw (and blocking the roadview for those behind you).
A few observations:
The rear seat headrests look strange.
The footpads (accelerator, brakes, clutchpad) are well spaced from each other, but they look small in size.
Enjoy your car

Oh, yes stupid:.
Thanks for correcting!

It is the pic. I didn't realize they were fully pulled up - the result of demo-ing to someone I guess!
well done and wish you all the very best with your new "estate" car!
Glass,
Thats a neat review. And many congrats on going with your heart and head together.
I am in a similar dilemma. Currently own a Palio D and want to replace it with a practical diesel. The entire family is against the fusion as it is a small car for them. I am sure your writings would priove them wrong. Thanks for that. I will reschedule my postponed extensive test drive and try my best to convince the family.
Do continue the thread with more info as you go along. I am keen to know the comfort levels in comparison to the sedans and also the FE.
Congrats once again and drive safe.
Congrats on your new set of wheels.
Are you sure that you have got alloy wheels for your car. Specs on ford website mention steel wheels with 7 spoke full wheel cover. Even your car pictures look like a black steel wheel with a full wheel cap/cover.
Don't want to disappoint you, but just want to confirm.
Glass,
Congrats and welcome to the club :) You have made a very wise decision indeed :)
I also recently bought a Fusion Diesel (paprika red) and believe me, the car is awesome. It's the compact 'big' car and it's really big on performance too. Mileage, pick-up and steering are all top class. I will be writing my 5000 km report shortly.
But more importantly than anything else, it's an elite group you now belong to. Be proud.

:Shockked: They are alloys. Fusion's Alloys looks no better than normal Steel Rims.

The fusion
plus comes with alloy wheels. You were probably looking at the wrong page.
Ford - Fusion Plus
thanks for correct link.
Wonder why Ford opted for same design for alloys & full wheel cap/cover.

Yes, the design is close, though not exactly the same.
Hai Glass,
Good choice and congrats. The colour is great and the interior looks sexy too.
When I ordered a Fusion Petrol in 2005, people were apalled!!!!! Nobody in my office or around had one, it looked so different, but whoever drove it, fell in love with it. Man could it move; in traffic and above 2k rpm, it's a Rambo on the Roll. I am yet to come across a car in India, in the price range and class, with such a smooth gear throws.
I used it hard for 2 years + and did about 33K Kms, enjoyed every Km I drove. I still think its one of a kind car and a gret cross. I am sure you'd have lots of fun driving it.
Happy Driving,
