Abhinav, the mileage of the RS is amazing with a light foot. The lowest fuel consumption reading I have got is 5.6 litre per 100 kms - with Ac on, when cruising on the Gurgaon expressway at 70-80. Thats about 17.8 kms per litre!!

But its so boring!!. Enjoy the car.

The best I could manage is 4.9L / 100 kms - speed between 60-70 kmph on cruise control. Of course with a/c on.

One of these days - I will better this !

ps - I hit 8L / 100 kms daily on my way to work. On a sunday that comes down to 7L/100 kms easy

Beat All except N_C

Got an absolutely brilliant 5.3L/100KM = about 18.8Kmpl

60 speed. Cruise Control Off. A/C off.
avg. speed bw 60 and 65
25 kms. evening 6 pm.

vRs is Power + Efficiency ( of course not both together)

But are these readings accurate? I feel if the car returns 8-10 with sedate driving tthen its excellent mileage.

I don't think that's an impossible figure. Turbo cars when driven sedately give more mileage than the same car in NA mode.

I would go with the fact that it is correct
Obviously vRs gives a decent 14-15 on the highway @ constant speed of 100, 5th gear
so 60 in 5th gear, instantaneous shows around 5.5 and a time comes when you have entered the turbo band a leave the accelerator, instantaneous shows 0.0l/100Km

I guess so - specially in vehicles made in and after 2005. Mad Monkey also this problem and he has been told that it is a chassis problem. A slight pull to the left is there.

Thank fully mine is a 2004 model

ps - you call your car - LAAL PARI ?

As for the FE figures - that figure is the instantaneous one. When you play with the computer, you get the actual figure the car is giving over the complete number of kms it has done. Mine hovers around - 10 L/ 100 Kms

Congrats Abhinav for the new Octavia. Does it come with the same pump duse fuel injection or have they changed over to crdi lately? VW changed over last December on a wide range of its cars.
The crdi should improve the fuel economy.
