Initially the jerks at slow speeds is annoying. But with judicial use of clutch and gears, the problem can be overcome. A driver, new to driving the old vtec can be annoyed with the jerky ride initially. It can be avoided by slight adjustments to the driving style.

I'm not sure that Iridium plugs will make any difference. Going in for an ECU from a post-2002 model may not be worthwhile.

Re: My 2001 OHC VTEC

long update due,

Well car is still going strong. have clocked 86k till date. participated in the speed run (Coimbatore 2011). Managed a quarter mile time of 15.98. Post drag the car has undergone few major changes
1. Fully worked head from Race concepts
2. 4-1 header and exhaust from race concepts
3.D16 intake with BMC filter
4.Custom 3 way fully adjustable coilovers. The car is slammed and stiff
5.RD ECU and tune from Race concepts
6. 15" Enkei RPF-1 shod with 205-50-15 BFG's

Cosmetically, my car is in a pretty bad shape. Due to bad roads and lowered car, the body kit has taken a beating.

Will be removing the body kit soon. pics up soon

Re: My 2001 OHC VTEC

Cars doing well and going strong.
had a track day @ Coimbatore. Drove down from BLR - filled 100 oct and drove on track. Drove back to BLR. Absolutely no issues at all, Had kept octane booster with me to add during the highway fuel top up.

Few recent pics of my 23-year-old beauty. Will have to plan a repaint soon. Occasionally daily drive the car. Starts with no hesitation and brings a huge smile when I floor it. A very much visceral connection with this one
