Injectors light flashes again

Otherday while driving to work, all of a sudden the power decreased and found the injector light on. luckily was very close to my office and after parking for a while the light vanished.

took the car to the workshop(Concorde-Hosur rd) decided to leave the car there for sometime so that the guys gets to investigate the issue.
As a routine check the value timing was checked with other checks everything looked fine.

Now the ignition coil seems to be the culprit, had got the same error when checked with the examiner few months back. also near the exhaust outlet there was carbon formation.

Last couple of months had noticed drop in power and the service adviser told me it could be due to the "ignition coil"

This spare is not available and might take couple of days...

will update you all in couple of days.

Kudos to Exide support

few weeks back had parked my car for about 3weeks without using it at all and the batter went down.

Called up the Exide helpline and those guys turned up in couple of hrs and started the car and was charged nothing as the batt is still under warranty.

Am impressed

I think they really gave you a break there since it was not a bad battery but a bit of negligence in terms of not getting the battery disconnected before leaving it unused.

So I kudos to Exide support !!!

Feels like a 1.6 now;)

Hi Guys latest update is go the "Ignition" coil replaced...

Now the car moves more freely, acceleration is much better!
smoothness has increased.

Waiting to do some long drive

My suggestion for those who have bought there cars for long drives and not for the city.. make sure you drive the car often infact if it is a used car then it becomes more necessary..

Since this thread is sleeping, thought will give some life to it...

After changing the ignition coil "Advy" feels much smoother, few weeks back "Sam(Warchild)" took it for a drive and he was mightly impressed with the beast!
The growl of the car after 4k RPM would make any driver happy and ofcourse the pickup...

Am not very happy with "Mich XM1+" find it too soft, i mean driving on a rough surface you can feel the road...i was almost tempted to exchange it for Turanza but have stopped myself heheh

Have plans to change one of the headlight(Left) has the common issue of water seeping in and also one of the bull bar hella has got rusted....but its quiet expensive(1400 bucks) wonder it makes sense to go for a bigger once?

Seats have become lil soggy so am thinking of getting them done, not sure who does a good job...

I think am getting good mileage, am getting about 12 in city without AC. after changing the coil seems like it has effected the millage too.

Mileage of 12 in city? That is super. I cant touch double figures at all. 9.5 is the best in city for me. Of course, I don't calculate often, as I am not confident of getting a proper reading. Some times, the petrol nozzle shuts off soon and some times don't. Some times the attendant fills a few litres more and sometimes dont. So, no way I can get accurate readings. I get anywhere between 8.5 to 9.5 (rough calculations).

Hey! 12 in city seems real good to believe. The MAX i have got is 10.5 when my pirellis were almost bald.

What tyre pressure do you maintain.

IF at all you change the headlights ensure that you get the ones with the motor to adjust the beam.

Got confirmed - its a 1.2's end Can

Yea guys my doubts got confirmed on the end can, though its bit late.

I picked Advy last August and within a weeks time of purchase i had given it for a big service at RAC (Koramangala)

Since the "End Can" of the silencer was missing had asked them to get it a new one and i guess they could not source the one which is ment for 1.6/Adventure they fixed a 1.2s with some modification.

Yesterday it got confirmed as i checked a 1.2 and an Adventure...mine is a 1.2's:(

Now the question is how much it would effect, am sure there is an affect though am not sure how much.

I have lost all faith on RAC and i feel it was the biggest mistake to give it to them:( @ Concorde almost all spares are available and those which are not can be ordered.

I had shelled out about 4 change for that silencer, now am thinking should i go for Advy's end can or an FFE heheh

Lesson learnt, Always give your vehicle to the workshops who specialise and know about the particular vehicle and also try to very their credentials before making the move.

Am confused and very irritated!

Good that you learnt lesson I prefer Authorized.S.S rather than going to any road side or reputed non A.S.S. garage. One simple reason one cant expect set of rules there in A.S.S. and they are more clean than local garage. Make sure you make good contacts in A.S.S. and get the work done efficiently.

About FFE I suggest don't go for it if it is family car. If you drive alone and love racing and fast driving then go for FFE. For highway driving its waste. I liked it in my Matiz though since its used only in City.

Next time when you want to change vehicle buy Petrol Innova! LOL. You will love it.

Regards,

Ravi.

Second update, the ODO shows 59k kms ... and a year up. till date these are the major works on the car...

Belts & Bearings Changed, This was to be done after 60K kms but i preferred it to be done earlier as the car used to make some weird noise at idling...

Front Suspension & Cross member work, the previou sowner had damaged the cross member and one of the front suspension was weak..

Clutch, last few weeks changing gear was getting hard and while releasing the clutch it used to make some kinda noise, so have left the car yesterday an Concorde..

Few other issues i came across, Ignition coil, Brake Cylinder ...

Thanks Ravi, Am very picky about mechanics and all my Vehicles i make sure are given to the best but with Advy i was lil in hurry and thier i got into trouble

About FFE i liked it on my OHC, actually it works well if you get it done by a good tuner anyways on this am not in hurry just that i dont want to drive with the 1.2's end can

Hmm on the next vehicle i guess i have quiet a few of options, but it will surely be a Diesel hehe

Hurray its 1 year up!

August 14th 08 is the day when i picked Advy, i remember had to pick it up and had loads of work to complete, by the time i took off it was around 3 in the afternoon and finding ric was a issue and when i manged to find one i was greeted with very heavy down pour...hmmm time flies

Anyways till now its has been a pleasant experience(touch wood Advy has been understanding, i can say am happy with the decision..

Latest update... last week had given the car to get the "clutch" replaced, when it was opened up they found that the condition was very good just the clutch bearing was making noise...thanks to Concorde the same was informed to me. they just lubricated the cables etc which has made huge difference...

I did save some money but the labor is quiet expensive, they charge 1800bucks for the clutch related work..

Also front wheel bearing was weak, which was also changed.

Congrats on completing the anniversary!

I'm a little confused here. You say the clutch bearings were the culprit but you got the cables lubricated?. Plz help me understand.
