My 1st Car - TATA IndigoCS GLS

Hi All,

I am inspired by a thread in this forum by crosscap and have decided to go with TATA.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...-cs-gls-9.html

I have purchased my 1st Car - TATA IndigoCS GLS by 30-July-2008 from TAFE Reach, AnnaSalai, Chennai. The Sales Executive was Mr. Dinesh was so nice to deal with. Sofar my experience with the dealer is good.

I have enquired other dealers and none were giving any discounts other than providing Floor&Dicky mat. I have got the below offer from TAFE.

1. Floor and Dicky Mat
2. Sun Film
3. Central Locking
4. Corporate Cash Discount of 6K

I have booked the car on 28-July and have asked for delivery on 30-July. As promised, Dinesh has given delivery on 30-July with registration completed and with the colour of my choice ( I have taken Mica Grey Colour).

Additionally I have bought Car Cover from showroom and paid 1300. I have completed my 1st service as well and have opted for Under Chasis Rust Prevention Coating(5 yrs warranty) and paid 3000. I have crossed morethan 1000 kms now.

Mileage before 1st service - 8.77 ( City Driving with 100% AC ON )
- 12 ( Long Drive - Chennai to Vellore 240 kms roundtrip, with 50% AC ON )

Mileage after 1st service - 15 ( Long Drive - Chennai to Kalahasti 280 kms roundtrip, with 50% AC ON )
I am not using my car in chennai city, so will take the city mileage soon and will update.

ICE Setup
Pioneer 3050 HeadUnit ( USB + Aux in )
JBL Component Speaker in Front
JBL 6 x 9 Speaker in Back.

Please find the photos of my car.

Thanks again for all your advice in choosing the car.

Congrats on you new car. Nice photos and colour choice. I feel you could have bargained for more on the accessories front or atleast you could have got the under body coat within the amount you have given to them (OTR price).

Congrats buddy.

CS is surely a value for Money car. First car and a sedan

The city traffic mileage is < 9? Thats surprising.
Please do keep us updated with this.

Enjoy your new love, happy driving.

Congratulations on your purchase. The CS looks absolutely stunning in this colour. Previously I used to like the orange coloured one, from now on it is this colour. The car looks so spacious from outside. How do you find the boot?

Please post a picture with the boot open

Hi TheARUN,

> How do you find the boot?

Volume wise CS is just 75 litres smaller than the regular Indigo's 450 litres boot size.

Lovely colour - is on my shortlist for my CS (if and when that happens)

Don't worry too much about the initial mileage - I got 8.84 in Chennai city with 100% A/C when the odo reading was 1650 km. At that stage, the overall mileage was 10.2 kpl. I am talking about 5.5 years ago!

Long trips with the speedo restricted to 90 kph will yield superb FE results.

I found boot spacious enough to carry 1 big suitcase and 2 cabin luggage.
