There is no temperature gauge in the Honda city.
When its cold a blue sign comes and when it gets hot , a red one pops up.

None of the Honda City Variants have alloy wheels as standard and that really comes as a shock
However there is an option (atleast) of getting them from the dealers.

This one looks great ( IMO ) and people may buy it for the new and fresh car factor.!
Comparing with the likes is okay. But with Civic its far too stretched, IMO. Both are in different price bands and a different league all together

hmm congrats abhinav on completing 1000 posts..way to go!
and yes as some of the people pointed out that the tail lamps looks outdated. It sure is and IMHO they should have given it a bit more leaner and elongated look rather then this trapezoidal look. Maybe it would have been better if they were inspired by the audi rear rather then the bmw rear!

Great report and terrific pictures Vivek.
This is one car I'm eyeing on.
The tail lights are disappointing IMO and how I wish a slightly higher ground clearance...

Hi Vivek,

That's a crisp, no-nonsense report. It felt like reading a proper article with strategically placed pictures etc.

Cannot wait for the detailed report, esp. with the highway performance and FE parts (which I hope will throw a plesant surprise to many of us).

Keep up the good work buddy!

Then you might like it if you see the car in flesh, and suddenly might fall in love if at all you end up buying one

Great pics Vivek!

While you continue to test the car today, can you pls check if this model too likes to kiss the (poorly laid) speed breakers? Thanks.

To Honda, please bring the V model really sooooooooooooooon!

Vivek, congrats for doing a fantastic job on the initial report. It is probably the best one in the forum and you have set high standards for others to follow. Looking forward to the more detailed report which will follow suit.

The pictures you have taken clearly highlight the 'taut bow' design which Honda has attempted here. IMO, this is the best looking C segmenter by a mile. Such a good looking car with great FE and reasonably fun to drive - boy, once again, Honda will score comfortably over the others.

By the way, I have seen some media reports mention this as 4th Generation. Is there some confusion here?
What does Honda's official release say?

Thanks Vivek for sharing this much anticipated review and pics with us.In pics 3 and 4 i see side body cladding on the doors in the red car. Are door beadings available in the top end version. I think without those the car looks a bit dull from the sides.
Can you please confirm this?

This is what I am still unable to understand. All car engines are cold before we start them up first thing in the morning and heat up gradually with the temperature gauge needle remaining stable a little below the halfway mark (assuming the coolant pump is working and there is coolant in the pot). If the needle hovers beyond the halfway mark, we know that something is wrong and check the coolant level or the pump.

Since the light will always be blue when the engine is started up initially and then turn red as the engine heats up (albeit to normal levels), how are we supposed to know if something is really wrong and the engine is heating up abnormally ??

i dont see any point in buying auto mags anymore with the quality of stuff we are seing here in the forum ! thanks Vivek

if this engine can deliver the FE of a IDSI as claimed, why not have a IDSI type underpowered engine with even more FE ? ( these are testing times you know..)
