Honda's philosophy at play here : Man maximum, Machine minimum

TD'ed the ANHC EMT today. Opened the door, casually got in and knocked my knee against the dash! Ingress has to be more careful than in a WagonR or even a Linea. Adjusted the mirrors, started the engine and drove off. Started in typical city traffic (in 2dn and 3rd gears) - no complaints - and proceeded to where I live (lots of speed breakers). Took it through a typical dug up and lazily filled road. I wasn't impressed. Ride was of course better than my WagonR but Linea was better. Took it over many speed bumps (the jerky metal ones) - ride wasn't too bad but noise insulation was poor. Even my wife wasn't impressed. In my Linea TD (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...ml#post1762981) the ride was smooth and noise was well kept out, the ANHC was disappointing here. Anyway, went to a stretch of road which is slightly empty and gassed it. Again, though better than Linea, I wasn't very impressed. My dad's 140k+ OHC VTEC feels more rev happy than this one. Changing lanes at 100kmph I felt more comfortable with the Linea than ANHC though much better than the old OHC VTEC.

Space is an area where ANHC leads. Driver footwell is not cramped like the Linea and I like that there's no dead pedal (I like to stretch my legs at times while driving). Rear space - with my setting, I feel ANHC is marginally better (I am 5'9") than Linea but Linea has a more comfortable rear middle seat than the ANHC.

All in all, ANHC might win this race but that's more due to lack of a worthy competitor than the car itself (no 1.4T-Jet in Linea and wife doesn't want to get a SX4 of Fiesta).

ANHC - knocking noise?

Hi Guys,

I am looking at ANHC as my new car and had taken a test drive a few days ago. The car I was driving was apparently their VP's car which had done 13k+ kms on it. I red-lined the car couple of times during the drive (full AC on) and each time I heard some knocking noise between 4k-4.5k rpm for a second or 2. I asked the salesman and he said it happens on all Citys when engine is revved high enough. I hear the same knocking noise sometimes on my dad's OHC VTEC (140k+ kms) and thought that maybe it was a sign of old age of the engine.

I am considering buying ANHC and I like revving the engine but this is putting me off. Anyone else who's experienced this?

^^ 7,100 rpm on my OHC Vtec and zero knocking . Most certainly the quality of fuel.

New colour in ANHC?

I just spotted this ANHC E M/T model near sector 16 Noida market in a never before seen bluish silver colour. Has Honda introduced any colour like this recently?

Looks like one of the colors available on the NHC. Customer must have demanded a custom job. I've seen an Accord V6 too (the pre-2008 model) in the same NHC bluish shade.

I have seen Bright Orange colored ANHC's running in Bangalore as Taxi's. Will click a pic if possible when I spot it next time.

OT: By the way does a manufacturer really produce/manufacture a car based on request or will it be fleet of cars. I don't think we have customization for a single car that is bought.

I have seen this colour (on ANHC) in Bangalore about 2 months back itself. It appears to be the same color Civic comes (or came) with. If I am not mistaken, this colour option is avilable on even Jazz.

The car looks similar to bluish silver metallic in the civic and NHC. Jazz comes with sherbet blue, pretty different as shown:
The car had private UP 16 X **** number plate.

The latest catalogue at my disposal doesn't show this or the i20 type Blue, which is a Limited Edition colour. And Custom Job by Honda, never heard of.
