Dear All,

After much thinking, finally decided to buy a Honda City (OHC), 1.5 AT, 1999 model.

Its a single owners, is hardly used (around 58,000 km), and in excellent shape.

Previously it belonged to a crorepati businessman, who has 10 more car with same no.

He liked the car so much, that he had maintained it literally in show room condition.

Original color, original accessories, original tape, leather seat covers (new one) & many more gizmos in superb condition.

Internally adjusted outer mirror, remote central locking & other things are just like any new car.

Battery is also new & tyres are in a good shape.

He was not willing to sell it, but when his son's bought few new cars, he has to sell.

The owner has also maintained the service history, manual, & other document.

In the test drive, engine is very smooth & silent, AC is a chiller, suspensions are in best condition even on bad roads.

While I showed the car to 2 different trusted mechanics; and both are very happy to find the car in an excellent condition.

So, i decided to buy it and finally the deal done at just 1.7 lacs.

Now, as i am driving the "New" OHC, I fall in love with her & its Automatic transmission is just fantastic in the traffic mess of Ahmedabad.

I am sure all OHC lovers will help me to maintain it for further 3-4 years & also some tips for getting good FE, as it is a AT!

cheers:

Congratulations. That's a very well kept Type1 OHC. Looks lovely. Drive with a light foot and you are sure to get dounle digit FE figures in the city. Service it regularly and it will serve you for years to come. Do update this thread with your ownership experience.

The car looks greatly maintained.

Will like to hear more about the drivability , performance and mileage of the Automatic.

Congrats.!

Car looks great. Really hard to find a mint condition 99' like that. All she needs now is some bling alloys.

congrats, the car looks well maintained by the previous owner.BTW i you could just share what does the car need right now besides regular servicing.also how is the handling part.

you got a great deal man.. lucky guy...
must say that the car is in a fantastic condition..
Keep us updated with the performance...
cheers!

very nice... saras che..!!
ive seen this car around. owner has a red octavia too right?

you'll need to replace the tyres (if they are the original ones that came with the car) and the headlights(they look a little faded.

but other then that congrats.!!

Car looks great in shape !! Drive it in a linear way, achieve a two figure mileage in city !

Do update the thread with driving experience in city as it looks like you are new to automatic stuff !

You have struck a great deal. Enjoy the car and keep us updated.

Those are gem's! Also considering the background its bound to run like a dream.

Plan to keep her stock or you going to get busy prettying her up :D

Great looking car man...

Congrats loving_alaap

the car looks in good shape dude.
uv got it at a good price too!
congratz!

Congrats on a lovely deal. The car looks groovy. A few points to add as follows:

1) Check the date of manufacture of the tyres for if they are more than approx.3~4 years old the grip on them could be bad because of the rubber getting hard. Replace if necessary. (JRD has suggested the same too before I have)

2) Check if you could change the headlights (JRD has suggested the same too before I have)

3) De-sticker the car, i.e., remove the stickers from the dicky and the number plate, that should give the car a much cleaner look.

4) Giver her a good wax - on / wax - off treatment when you are free and see it gleam.

+1 to this, Why did't I think of all these points.

Congrats alaap! I hate to nitpick, but was there any body-work done earlier? Check out the right rear door, below the side-strip; in the thrid pic.
