Hi,

finally i have booked 1.2 magna today.

tested santro and swift but it swift is out of my budget and santro was very bumpy in the ride.

deal i am getting.

- free insurance
- free registration
- 3k cash discount
- blupunkt HU(mumbai) + 4 sony speakers (or 6k cash discount).
- body cover,mats, fabric seat covers etc.

and i asked salesman about the mfg date(Thanks to PDI Thread), he said he doesn't know but agreed to give me VIN number, does vin number have Month also or just the Year.

also should i take 6k discount or opt for HU + Speakers.


getting delivery next week. will update thread then.

Conngrats on good buy, i10 is best hatch right now. You have got good deal, make sure price offered is after 4% price cut one done last week.

I feel you go with HU + speakers instead of 6k discount. What you do is visit their car yard/stock and inspect your vehicle. Check date/year to make sure its not over 3 months old. At least August manufactured is ideal.

Congrats Juststarted. You can check the manafactured month at this location :-

At the bottom of the driver seat, near the handle which you use to push the seat back, there will be some number in alpha numberic. The last alphabet is the month of manafacture

A= Jan, B= Feb, C= March etc. Check the last Alphabet and bingo you know the month of manafacturer. Ensure it is as latest as possible

Which color did you opt?

VIN number just has the year. However Look underneath the driver's seat, there's a cut-out flap of carpet, lift it up and you'll see the chassis no followed by a * and a letter. This is the month of mfg (a=january, b=february etc.)

do not take the sony speakers! try washing your hands off the blaupunkt head unit too and try getting a cash d/c on that too! you are then free to install whatever you like in the car. trust me, we all always regret the 'freebies' that come with the car. get a discount! and yes, congratulations, and welcome to team-bhp!

one another thing dealer is offering two remote locking system, one is autocop (with kidney shape remote) and other is cross----- (don't remember name exactly). remote was in rectangular shape with three button and had hyundai logo, plus this had silent feature (just light blinks not sound). which one i should opt for ?


guess i will go for 6k discount. seems its a very basic system.

i guess hyundai has a lot of stock the car man. will be from aug to nov surely. same in my case as well. gone are those days where they printed the month and year

Y'day I went for my Swifts PDI and it was J8. Sales guy said its September 08 model as i is silent. tht means After H , J comes.

Congrats!!! You have made the right choice. Dont go for the free ICE, get the cash discount. You can get a good after market ICE with some extra money.

It is a good deal for i10 magna 1.2.

I think the remote lock you don't know is Minda. It is having two buttons.

If you have the choice of selecting any one of two (I hope the options you got now is: 1. Hyundai HKE, 2. Minda), it is better to choose any one with respect to the number of years of replacement warranty and the brand. I too got the choice of these and I have gone for Minda which is giving 3 years replacement warranty. And by one of senior BHPian mentioned herein other thread, he experienced with Minda positively on immediate service.

I inquired with dealer on the reverse siren. He told both these models are coming with reverse siren without any doubt.

In Maruti cars "I" is silent , So if its L comes in Chasis no. means mfg month is November. I am not sure whether Hyundai also counting like that.
