Buy a 4x4 safari man. Nothing like it.

Cheers,
I totally agree with Shanawaaz.

Do something and go for a 4x4. Dont repent later like what i am doing now.

+++ to that.

You dont want to repent later - Safari without 4x4 is nothing but a very large diesel estate. Dont end up with a bull thats missing its b @ lls.

I also totally support this point of view!
Go for the 4x4, don't repent later. Many folk I know are repenting at leisure!

Come on man, he's kidding - he's referring to the 4WD switch

I understand on the OE alloys, but the headlight adjuster, isn't it standard in call cars nowadays? i mean the one in which you can level your headlight beams.

Also any confirmation on of the 35k for OE alloys are the right pricing?
Talk to the dealer and force him to offer you the same discounts. TML usually shuts shop between Christmas and New Year so if you book at this time (as I did 2 years ago), you can still get the same discounts. Your vehicle may be manufactured and delivered only in Jan 2009 (as mine was in 2007) - your only disadvantage is to pay the marginal increase IF TML increases the price (unlikely). Ask your dealer to check if there are any EX 4x4 available at TML Pune for despatch immediately.

I was referring to the 4WD slider switch

OK, answer this: Do you want to do this stuff with your safari? If yes, buy a 4x4 (How you do that is your headache. beg, borrow, steal, delay your purchase, save, whatever..), else buy a 4x2. I rest my case.

Oh yes definitely stretch yourself to a 4wd if know you can somehow manage or add yourself to the list of regret. Well as for me, I had the purchase capacity of Indica and stretched myself to a Safari LX, 4wd was and still is out of question - BUT a 4wd is a 4wd, no amount of torque or driving prowess can substitute that.

But then if you still end up buying a 2wd that does not give you the reason not to do things like this

Hey congrats timj

Am glad you are going for the safari, however it would have been great if you could get a 4x4, anyways no sweat hope you get your ride soon.

BTW - how has the entire deal worked out to? what discounts and accessories if any that you are getting?

I am sure you have gone through some of the posts that are on the forum and have not missed out on the below : I for one feel that some of the snaps are unbelieveable, hope you too will post your images soon.

@Timj,

Congrats! A great decision.

@And for the rest of you:

My God! You guys are all the devil himself!

A fellow just posts about his vehicle booking and all of you tempt him thru words, photos, promises and even a contribution thread to make him spend more! And the choice of photos, what can I say, might just cut the deal!

@Timj,
Back to you: all the best resisting the temptation!

hrag's and abc's pics of their wheels are simply amazing. The splash of mud on the white truck does kindle your inner instincts to break free from the treaded paths and you guys are tempting me way too much with the 4x4 goodies/advantages. But i guess at this time of temptation, i need to resist and dont give way

The shift to the safari from a lowly hatchback itself will keep me excited and content with the truck for quite sometime, so should be happy with the 4x2, but i am sure, it would have been great to own a 4x4, but i guess you dont get all the best things always
