The car does looks nice from the front as many people have not liked its facelifted look. Though they should have done something about the age old back look as well.

This has been the same in the Ikon from donkeys years, and a very thoughtful design too.
Very right. The salesman talk is all crap.
The body width has in fact gone down by 2mm from the earlier Ikon. I guess this is attributed to the absence of side trims along with plain sides.
And the leg room has gone down from 1145mm to 1036mm.

Leg room where? My knowledge was that they havent fiddled with any other part of car interior except for the odo display. Then how come a reduction here?

had a TD of this today. liking from the day of its launch and planning to buy one but This TD has changed everything.i am sticking to my swift vdi with ABS . Because
  • ODO is plain as compared to swift
  • not as fast as compared to swift
  • Not as good looking as white vdi with black tints and 5 spoke hypersilver 15" alloys.
  • gear knob vibrates like hell.
but it is 5.66 OTR Delhi !!!!!

looking forward for my swift in Jan.

Oh God please Skip December THis year ,please !!!!!

It would not be as fast as swift, but it should be fine in other aspects.

Fiesta with the same engine is returning good mileage figures, so Ikon should be able to return better FE.

Anyways the car is a great deal for the price mentioned.

Lets look out for more TD reports from BHP ians

Guys , I feel there is a difference on the passenger area. Take a closer look . Look at the gap difference between the Left Side Mirror's Adjusting knob and the Left AC Vent. The new car has more gap . Also compare and see the Glovebox along with the left door rubber strip between the two pics. And also compare both the Left door's Fabric trims. I feel there is difference. May be the new car has been slight some more leg room for the front passenger. Or is it that the Door is opened and i am getting results like that . Can somebody make a close comparison ?

As long as you are happy with a hatch, Swift VDI with ABS is a better choice. Your observations are right. Ikon is for those who are looking for a entry level sedan.

The tyres are 13". Thats the reason why the gap looks bigger.
Folks any idea on the exchange for Ikon 1.6 Nxt for the Ikon TDCi. Please do check it with the dealers if anyones in for a TD.

This car beats the bulbous DZire any day. I would have preferred a more radical rear light design, though. Nice pics and review.

guys, what might the reason be for gear knob vibrating so hard and what can be done to eliminate it (if it can be and is not a design flaw)

It's the same engine+tranny from the Fiesta, so why would this be any different? The Ikon's engine bay has handled a more heavier 1.8D engine, and should not experience this problem. Could this be due to the engine+tranny mounting/damping engineering issue?
