My new (5.29 lac) Ford Fiesta!

Firstly, I would like to apolozise for not going with the option poll and buying an Accent executive as discussed in the thread here:

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/sedans...kes-sense.html

I finally bought a 1.6 (Duratec petrol) Fiesta Exi with a wooping discount of 91K (under limited period offer). Got the car delivered in Dec'08, but got it registered in Jan'09 . Took temprary no. for 1 month (idea given by tsk1979). The car cost me 5.78 Lacs on road (with extended warranty)!

Now that I have driven the car for 1000 kms, here are some small but significant +ve points about Fiesta Exi:
  1. Every Fiesta has an engine immobaliser, or coded keys, but ford dosn't play trumpet about this, unlike Maruti (my car is i-cats protected)
  2. Even the base model (Exi) has rear fog lights!
  3. Equiped with engine kill switch in case of collision.
  4. POwer window switches are illuminated. However, illumination goes off on 3 doors if the driver has centrally locked the windows. Nice and thoughtfull touch!
  5. Boot release button wont function if the engine is start! Again a safty feature.
  6. Power delivery is instant. With 102 BHP on the tap, my Swift Vxi eats the dust with Fiesta leading the way..

That sure is a whooping discount there akash.I thought I held the record all this while, coz when I purchased my baleno in 2006 , the discount I got was close to 82k.

This included the dealer discount(some kinda loyalty bonus also included) and corporate discount. Congratulations on the new buy and drive safe.

Ford OEM 2 din music system is an add on (just 10k with 4 speakers). The sound is awesome. Wheel caps are standard fitment.

Ur car looks great & U got a Fantastic discount. Do upgrade the tyres and Alloys to the one from the 1.6S.
How's the sound quality of the OE Music system? Is it Pen drive compatible?

congrats akash i must say you got heck of a deal. I'm sure you must be on cloud 7 after driving that 1.6 beast!
I suggest go for some sexy alloys and also get the original fiesta sports spoiler. Can also get body colored door handles and rear view mirrors done from ford.

some more pics...

Altough there's nothing such as 'run-in period' mentioned in the brochure, I still follow not exceeding 2k rpm or 60-70kmph for a longer engine life. But believe me, its a real pain driving on mouth watering Noida expressway, with 102 BHP on tap and not exceeding 60 kmph

AFAIK, my boot release does not function when the speed of the car is more than 15 kmph. Not sure if they have changed it.

BTW, congrats for the Paprika Fiesta.

Never knew of this feature.

I ahve opened the boot in my Fiesta while the engine was running. But I won't risk trying it while running.

Akash-: Are the fog lamps standard fitment only for Petrol version? My diesel Zxi doesnt even have front fog lamps.

Nice car Akash and you got an awesome deal on it. Great colour choice too. All you need now is a set of alloys to go with that colour Happy motoring.

Wow!!! For 5.8 lakhs the 1.6 is surely a superb deal.
I know guys who paid that much for the 1.4P.
Enjoy the drive.

The Swift-P is not even competition for much lesser powered cars, let alone the 102bhp Fiesta. While the 87bhp sounds good on paper, the extra weight of the car boggs it down. After driving my Dad's Swift-Zxi during the weekends, it feels so much fun being behind the wheels of my Baleno.
